Brotherwell Brewing turned its Waco taproom into a weeknight puppy yoga stopover, mixing a beginner-friendly class with adoptable rescue dogs, a beer garden hangout and a built-in chance to meet a possible new pet. The event was listed for Tuesday, April 28, at 7 p.m. at 400 E. Bridge St. in Waco, and the draw was simple: show up, flow through a yoga class led by FXL Foundational Fitness, and spend time with puppies from the Humane Society of Central Texas.

The setup made the night feel less like a niche workout and more like an easy community outing. Admission was $15 at the door, and that price included one pint of beer, which gave the class a clear after-work appeal. The listing said the session was open to all levels and encouraged RSVPs because spots were limited, a sign that organizers expected a full room and wanted the class kept manageable.

The adoption angle was the real differentiator. The Humane Society of Central Texas brought adoptable puppies to the brewery so they could meet potential adopters while participants got their puppy fix. That made the event feel purposeful, not just playful. The rescue says it serves Waco and McLennan County as a nonprofit animal welfare organization, and its mission centers on keeping pets and people together through compassionate services.

That mission fit neatly with the rest of the event. The Humane Society of Central Texas uses a foster-based model and says foster care helps animals transition to forever homes, a structure that works especially well for an in-person meet-and-greet like this one. The puppy yoga format gave the rescue a relaxed setting to introduce dogs to possible adopters without the pressure of a formal adoption appointment.

Brotherwell was a natural host for the crossover. The brewery describes its taproom as family friendly and dog friendly, with a large outdoor area where leashed dogs are welcome. It also says it was born in Waco and exists to serve the Central Texas community with locally crafted beer, which helps explain why a wellness-and-rescue night could land so easily there.

The brewery already had a wellness rhythm in place, too. Downtown Waco lists recurring yoga events in Brotherwell’s beer garden, showing that the space has become a regular spot for movement and social time. Puppy yoga simply added a rescue partnership to a format Waco already knew how to use.
