Dirk Verbeuren and TAMA launch limited 30-piece Megadeth Mk.II signature snare
Dirk Verbeuren and TAMA rolled out a 30-piece Megadeth Signature Custom Mk.II snare, stage-played and sold only at Megadeth shows, with promo photos by Cameron Nunez accompanying the announcement.

Dirk Verbeuren unveiled a limited run Megadeth Signature Custom Mk.II snare drum in partnership with TAMA Drums, a collector piece the band says mirrors the look of his Starclassic Maple kit from Megadeth’s World Tour. Megadeth’s announcement calls it “a must-have for collectors and fans alike,” and the promotion is illustrated with campaign photography credited to Cameron Nunez.
The band and Dirk’s team tied the release directly to live dates: only 30 units are available worldwide, sold exclusively at Megadeth shows supporting Iron Maiden in North America, Australia, and New Zealand. Megadeth’s copy states, “Every snare comes stage-played, includes a pair of Dirk Verbeuren’s new Meinl Signature drumsticks, a Megadeth drum key, and Dirk will personally autograph your snare after the show,” making the pieces both performance-used and signed memorabilia for buyers at those venues.
Megadeth’s spec sheet and press language describe the Mk.II as built with a heavy 12-ply G-Maple shell, finished in a rust color with smoked black nickel hardware, and designed to mirror Dirk’s touring kit supporting Megadeth’s Billboard-topping final studio album, Megadeth. The band’s materials positioned the snares as premium, stage-proven instruments tied to the World Tour and emphasized the limited nature and collectible value with the call to action, “Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of Megadeth history! GET YOURS!”
At the same time, Dirk Verbeuren’s webstore and Bigcartel listings for a Dirk Verbeuren Signature snare present a different set of hardware and commercial details. That listing names the product as model Tama LBZ1455DV Dirk Verbeuren Signature, lists the shell as bronze at either 1.2mm or a paper-thin 1.5mm in separate lines, and gives the size as 5 1/2 x 14". The Bigcartel copy provides hardware specifics: MTL50 lugs, 10-hole die-cast hoops, MSC70A strainer and butt, and MS20SN14C snare wire, with a Megadeth Dirk Verbeuren stainless steel badge and smoked black nickel shell hardware. The listing also shows a $450.00 price, promises tracked shipping for online orders, and advertises extras such as a Certificate of Authenticity hand-signed and numbered, plus “Each comes with a 30 minutes personal Skype drum lesson with Dirk!” The Bigcartel page in the supplied material is labeled “Sold Out.”

Those two product narratives share the same headline facts of limited quantity and smoked black nickel hardware, but they diverge on core construction details and distribution channels. Megadeth’s announcement emphasizes a 12-ply G-Maple Mk.II sold at shows on the Iron Maiden dates, while Dirk’s webstore materials identify a bronze-shell 5.5 x 14" LBZ1455DV with explicit lug, hoop, and strainer hardware and a webstore sales history dating to September 5, 2017. Bigcartel’s marketing also includes the technical claim, “Die-cast hoops can handle a very wide tuning range, allowing you to crank up the drum for sharp, loud cracks and attack power that aren't typically associated with a bronze drum.”
The launch was timed to coincide with Megadeth’s ongoing touring context; the promotional copy ties the Mk.II to Dirk’s World Tour performances with Megadeth and lists North America, Australia, and New Zealand as the regions where the 30 collector snares would be available at shows. Photographs by Cameron Nunez accompany the announcement, and the combined materials present a closely staged limited-edition release that doubles as stage-used memorabilia and a set of detailed hardware options, depending on which piece of sales copy a buyer consults.
