D&D creator Meagan Kenreck reveals breast cancer diagnosis, launches fundraiser
Meagan Kenreck, a familiar D&D face from Wizards and actual play, launched a fundraiser after revealing a breast cancer diagnosis.

Meagan Kenreck, one of the most recognizable names and faces around modern Dungeons & Dragons media, revealed a breast cancer diagnosis and launched a fundraiser to help cover treatment costs. The main GoFundMe, titled Help Meagan Fight Breast Cancer, listed Kent, Washington, and named Todd Kenreck as a co-organizer as it went live.
Kenreck’s name matters in the hobby because she has worked on both sides of the camera. She spent roughly five years at Wizards of the Coast as a graphic designer on D&D products, and she has also been a familiar presence in actual play and tabletop video content. Fans first saw her in D&D Beyond’s Silver and Steel series in 2020, where she played Sofieus, and later in Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms content, where she was described as the creator of Widdle. A March 2024 D&D Beyond Adventurers League adaptation guide also credited her for graphic design.
The fundraiser says Kenreck is navigating a recent cancer diagnosis and needs help with the costs of surgeries and ongoing treatment that are not fully covered by insurance. A separate family-run fundraiser, Support Meagan’s Fight Against Breast Cancer, adds that she was diagnosed in March, that the cancer was caught early, and that she has been undergoing treatment since early October without pay, creating a growing strain from lost income and medical expenses.
Todd Kenreck also posted that the “initial scary diagnosis part is over” and that the family is now dealing with the “scary US Healthcare part.” In the same wave of posts, Meagan thanked supporters and said their messages and sharing reminded her that she was not alone.
That combination of design work, public-facing content, and long-running community visibility is why this story has landed so hard in D&D circles. Kenreck has been part of the ecosystem that shapes how the game looks and how it reaches players, from product design to actual play to video features. Right now, the response from that same ecosystem is direct support, and the fundraiser is the clearest place to help.
