Qualifying nonprofits have until Feb. 27, 2026 to submit applications for Moab City’s Community Recreation, Arts and Parks (RAP) grants, a funding stream targeted at local arts, culture, recreation and parks projects, programs and events. Applications, the grant guidelines, and additional program information are available at moabcity.gov/RAP.

The RAP grants are distributed through a competitive process. Applications will be reviewed and scored by the five-member Recreation, Arts and Parks Tax Advisory Committee, known as the RAP TAC. Committee members are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Moab City Council. For 2026, the TAC welcomes four new members who bring community engagement experience and varied expertise to the review process. The committee evaluates applications and presents funding recommendations to the City Council.

“The City of Moab is thrilled to facilitate the RAP Tax Community grant program again in 2026,” said Patrick Trim, Moab City Parks, Recreation, and Trails Director. “Since 2022, the RAP Tax Technical Advisory Committee has had the pleasure of funding many valuable community projects, programs and events that add to the vibrancy of our city.”

Practical examples show how RAP funds have been used locally. In 2025, RAP Tax revenues helped fund construction of a new playground at Swanny City Park, an identified community priority and an asset to Moab’s flagship park. That same year, RAP grant dollars supported 18 separate organizations across a variety of projects and events, demonstrating the program’s reach into arts groups, recreation providers, and park improvements.

For nonprofits planning to apply, focus proposals on clear benefits to arts, culture, recreation or parks in Moab. Include project timelines, budgets, and community impact statements where applicable. Because recommendations from the RAP TAC move to the City Council, well-documented community support and readiness to execute projects can be decisive in a competitive pool.

The RAP program provides a direct avenue for community groups to secure funding for events, facility upgrades, program delivery, and capital improvements. Submit completed applications and supporting materials by Feb. 27, 2026 at moabcity.gov/RAP. Expect the TAC review and City Council consideration to determine 2026 grant awards.

Successful applicants will see RAP Tax dollars put to work in parks, stages, and recreation spaces around Moab, helping sustain events and infrastructure that residents and visitors use year-round.
