Southwest Colorado Cycling Association (SWCCA) Announces ‘Tumag’ Spring Trails Update, Meet-and-Greet in Cortez
Fresh off winning the Colorado State Land Board's 2025 Lessee of the Year award, SWCCA brings its annual Tumag to Kokopelli Bike & Board on April 10.

Kokopelli Bike & Board in Cortez hosts the Southwest Colorado Cycling Association's annual spring Tumag on Friday, April 10, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., and this year the non-profit arrives with fresh hardware: the Colorado State Land Board's 2025 "Lessee of the Year" award.
The Tumag is SWCCA's traditional pre-season forum, bringing together riders, volunteers, and agency partners to walk through trail plans before the building season kicks off in earnest. This year's agenda puts Phil's World and Boggy Draw front and center, with specifics on the association's 2026 trail and forest projects and the collaborative processes that keep those systems open across a mix of state trust lands, U.S. Forest Service parcels, and local open space.
SWCCA Vice President Erin Yates framed what the night offers: "It's just a great opportunity to connect with local cyclists in the area and just learn more about some of the trail updates, what to expect for the riding season or any big project in the area."

Beyond the project rundown, the evening also serves as a chance to meet SWCCA board members directly and learn where volunteer labor and donations will have the most impact in 2026. Trail systems like Phil's World, a major regional destination that draws riders from well outside the Four Corners, depend on a steady volunteer pipeline and active land-manager relationships to stay in riding condition. The spring Tumag has historically been the event where those commitments take shape for the season ahead.
The Lessee of the Year designation adds a layer of context to this year's gathering: it signals that SWCCA's stewardship model is producing results recognized at the state level, even as the 2026 project list continues to grow.
