GTA 6 preorder bonus includes free GTA+ month with auto-renew risk

Digital GTA 6 preorders on PlayStation bundled one month of GTA+, but the perk came with a catch that mattered more than the free month itself: once redeemed, the subscription could roll straight into paid monthly billing unless auto-renew was canceled. Rockstar said the month had to be activated from the code attached to the preorder, and the offer had to be redeemed by March 31, 2027.

The offer applied to digital purchases of the Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition made before November 20, 2026. PlayStation’s preorder page listed the Standard Edition at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99, both including the one-month GTA+ bonus, with the page explicitly flagging that the subscription auto-renewed. Rockstar’s support page was even more direct: after the month ends, memberships auto-renew monthly at the regular price until canceled.

That makes the timing of activation the key decision. Buyers who already plan to use GTA+ get the cleanest value by redeeming the month when they are ready to play, then checking console subscription settings before the billing cycle turns over. Players who do not want another recurring charge can leave the code untouched until they actually want the benefit, or skip it entirely.

Rockstar said the month was available to new, lapsed, and existing subscribers, and existing GTA+ members could stack the bonus onto their current membership. That widens the appeal beyond first-time signups, especially for players who already keep a running subscription on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC.

The subscription is not a throwaway cosmetic perk. Rockstar describes GTA+ as a membership program for GTA Online that includes monthly GTA$500,000, access to the Vinewood Club, vehicle discounts, bonus vehicles, member-only Shark Cards, enhanced CEO and VIP perks, and a GTA+ games library. GTA+ launched on March 29, 2022, and its monthly price rose from $5.99 to $7.99 in April 2024, which makes the free month more meaningful than it first looks.

For buyers who wanted GTA 6 anyway, the bonus was a genuine extra. For everyone else, the real value lay in recognizing where the renewal starts, deciding when to redeem the code, and making sure the menu setting never turns a preorder perk into a surprise charge.
