When Rockstar Games relaunched the Neighborhood Watch event on April 2, 2026, the pitch was straightforward: complete five Dispatch Work missions for Vincent, pocket the Summer LSPD Officer with Tie Outfit and a GTA$200,000 bonus, and grind through 2X GTA$ and RP while the event runs through April 15. For GTA+ Members, the stakes were higher still, with 3X rewards on offer. Instead, a significant number of players have run into the same reward delivery bug that broke the event's original September 2025 run, this time paired with session-kick errors that are dumping players from lobbies mid-grind.

The glitch is specific: missions complete, the game confirms progress, but the unlocked outfit never shows up in clothing stores. Players do not lose tracked progress, since Rockstar stores all challenge completion data server-side, but the outfit simply fails to deliver. The same failure hit the September 18–24, 2025 run of the event, when players who finished three Dispatch Work missions to earn the Winter LSPD Officer with Tie Outfit found nothing waiting for them in-game.

Rockstar Support acknowledged that earlier outbreak via the official Rockstar Discord on September 19, 2025, confirming developers were aware of the issue. A follow-up post on both Discord and Rockstar's official X account stated the company had "identified the issue" with the weekly challenge reward and was in "the process of correcting affected accounts." Players who completed the required missions between September 18 and 24, 2025 were told they would receive the outfit within 72 hours of completion. Even so, some players were still empty-handed after the event week closed, prompting Rockstar's support team to ask them to "be a little more patient."

Compounding the frustration are session-kick errors bearing the message "There has been an error with this session," which have been forcing players out of lobbies anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes in, erasing any non-challenge progress made. These server-load spikes are a documented pattern in GTA Online's history: heavy player surges during event launches strain Rockstar's infrastructure, and the double and triple reward structure gives players strong incentive to log in simultaneously.

Dispatch Work itself was deliberately optimized for grinding. The missions, which task players with tracking fugitives, escorting prisoners, and responding to high-risk situations through NPC contact Vincent, had their cooldown cut from five minutes to one minute during the Agents of Sabotage update's Gunrunning Bonuses Week in February 2025. That change made Dispatch Work a viable farming loop, which means the current bug is hitting a mission type players specifically count on for efficient runs.

The April 2026 event also introduced two new law enforcement vehicles via Warstock Cache & Carry: the Bravado Buffalo Cruiser, available immediately at launch, and the Bravado Buffalo STX Pursuit, which opened as GTA+ early access on April 2 before releasing to all players on April 9. The pattern of post-update instability is not new; a December content drop introducing in-game mansions saw players kicked from mansion sessions whenever another player triggered a freemode event in the same lobby.

As of April 5, Rockstar Support has not announced a comprehensive patch resolving the session errors, and its guidance to affected players remains standard network troubleshooting. With the event running through April 15, the window for a server-side correction is still open, but players have no confirmation one is in the pipeline.
