GTA+ Subscribers Get Free NBA 2K26 Access with Exclusive In-Game Rewards
GTA+ just added NBA 2K26 to its library for free, marking the first time a non-Rockstar title has ever appeared in the subscription service.

Rockstar Games has dropped something genuinely unexpected into the GTA+ Games Library: NBA 2K26, the full game, free for subscribers on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S through April 20. The addition is live now and runs through the end of the month, timed loosely to the NCAA March Madness window, though Rockstar made no official mention of that connection in its announcement.
What makes this notable beyond the free game itself is the precedent. As RockstarINTEL's Aaron Trueman reported, this is the first title Rockstar has ever added to GTA+ that it did not develop. That distinction matters for a service that launched in 2022 as a pure GTA Online perk machine, offering things like monthly GTA$500,000 deposits to your Maze Bank account, vehicle storage, and rotating bonuses. Adding a third-party sports title from 2K represents a genuine expansion of what GTA+ can be.

The corporate connection makes the partnership less surprising than it first appears. Both Rockstar and 2K sit under the same parent company, Take-Two Interactive, which owns the 2K Sports division responsible for the NBA 2K franchise. The two studios have never crossed over quite like this before, but the shared corporate umbrella cleared the path.
Subscribers who access NBA 2K26 also receive the NBA 2K26 GTA+ Content Pack. It contains 5,000 VC, 6 types of Skill Boosts usable across 5 games, and a guaranteed Diamond Player Pack. According to GG.deals, claiming those items requires linking your NBA 2K account, though other outlets describe the pack as simply included with GTA+ access without specifying that step. Worth confirming before you assume the rewards land automatically.
The game retails for $79.99 according to GG.deals, which makes the time-limited window a meaningful offer even if you have no interest in keeping a subscription past April. Access runs from March 10 through April 20, console only, with no PC availability reported.
Rockstar announced the partnership on X, writing: "We've partnered with @NBA2K to bring the world-class basketball action of NBA 2K26 to the GTA+ Games Library on console for a limited time." Since its launch nearly four years ago, the service has steadily added full games to a catalog that initially existed solely to reward GTA Online regulars. Whether this opens the door to other Take-Two properties, including the likes of Borderlands 4, remains to be seen, but the NBA 2K26 addition signals that the GTA+ library is no longer strictly a Rockstar-only affair.
