LeFix Speedometer just did the kind of quiet repair that keeps a driving-focused GTA V setup from falling apart. Version 1.4.0 restores compatibility for GTA V Legacy 1.0.3877.0 and GTA V Enhanced 1.0.1013.34, which matters for anyone who relies on a clean on-screen speed readout instead of a stock dashboard.

That update lands in the middle of Rockstar’s PC split, where the old version became GTAV Legacy and the newer build launched as GTAV Enhanced. Rockstar rolled out the free PC upgrade on March 4, 2025, said Legacy would continue to be supported, and positioned Enhanced as a free upgrade for existing PC owners with performance optimizations for modern PCs and features previously limited to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. For mod users, that means a HUD mod now has to survive on two different game branches, not one.

LeFix’s newest release is built for that reality. The author says no new features will be added, with future work limited to support for newer versions and bug fixes if needed. That makes this less of a flashy rewrite and more of a maintenance layer, the kind that matters when a game update shifts the internals under a long-used script. The changelog history backs that up, with earlier work already touching handbrake patterns, RPM patterns, manual transmission integration, menu integration, and vehicle-offset fixes.

Setup stays straightforward for anyone already running a Script Hook V stack. Script Hook V is required, the .asi file and the LeFixSpeedo folder go into the main GTA V directory, and the menu opens in game with F10 or the lefixspeedo cheat. Advanced users can still tune settings through the ini files. Script Hook V’s own documentation is clear that it enables custom *.asi plugins and does not work in GTA Online, so this remains a single-player mod, not a multiplayer tool.

The scale of the mod explains why this compatibility pass matters. GTA5-Mods lists LeFix Speedometer among its most-downloaded speedometer mods, with 352,764 downloads in the site listing. For players running manual transmission setups, chasing a cleaner dashboard, or simply trying to keep a familiar HUD alive after Rockstar’s split into Legacy and Enhanced, v1.4.0 is the kind of update that keeps a trusted driving mod in the load order instead of turning it into dead weight.
