A small utility file caused a big headache for GTA V police builders, and the fix arrived fast: SSLA was refreshed on April 23, 2026 for the latest game patch, with the per-vehicle siren limit raised from 20 to 32.

That matters because the failure mode was not cosmetic. The update was aimed at addon vehicles that were not lighting correctly or were crashing the game after the patch, which can take an entire patrol pack offline overnight. For anyone running cruisers, SUVs, slicktops, or specialty rigs with stacked lightbars, takedowns, scene lights, and other emergency gear, a broken siren-limit file can make a fully assembled fleet look dead on arrival.

The new release keeps the same SirenSetting Limit Adjuster concept that cp702 built years ago, but it is now packaged as a compatibility restore for the current GTA V build. The download includes an ASI file and a PDB file, and both are meant to be placed in the GTA V main directory. That simple install path is part of why SSLA has become one of those quiet support mods that police-livery, ELS-style, and DLS-style setups lean on without much attention until something breaks.

The original SSLA documentation spells out why it is so widely used. Siren1 through siren32 are fully functioning and independent, the siren_glass limit is also raised to 32, and the maximum siren setting ID in carcols is pushed to 65535. Even with those gains, one hard cap still remains: GTA V still has a 128 total bones limit on a vehicle, so the mod solves siren handling, not every hardware constraint in the model itself.

Community pressure was already building before the refresh landed. On March 18, 2026, Mr.DudeMan wrote that “the last gta update broke the mod” and said non-ELS lights were no longer working on mod vehicles. That complaint fits the larger pattern around GTA V emergency-vehicle modding, where a single Rockstar patch can ripple through scripts, lighting behavior, and pack stability at once.

For builders who depend on addon cruisers staying functional, the SSLA update is not a minor maintenance release. It is the difference between a working fleet and a broken one, and it gives mod crews a quick path back to usable siren and lighting behavior while larger packs catch up.
