Virgin Australia branding on a Boeing 737 MAX 8 is the kind of detail that stops airline-roleplay crews mid-scroll. Troglobite’s new livery mod adds a classic Virgin Australia skin and a 150th anniversary repaint for GTA V’s 737 MAX 8, and it is aimed squarely at the players who value accurate hangar shots, route recreations, and virtual airline runs over big mechanical overhauls.

That focus is what makes the mod matter. At just 804 KB, it is a lightweight enhancement rather than a full aircraft rebuild, designed to sit on top of the existing Boeing 737 Ultimate Package instead of replacing it. The mod page points users toward a simple workflow: place the texture in 738.ytd, then pick the livery in game with a trainer such as Menyoo or Simple Trainer. For players already using OpenIV and add-on aircraft packs, that means the repaint drops into a familiar pipeline with minimal friction.

The aircraft it is built around is a community favorite for a reason. The Boeing 737 Ultimate Package covers the 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 900ER, plus MAX 7, 8, 9, and 10 variants, and credits Heinrich_Hans_The 16th, Foxunitone, SkylineGTRfreak, and Bushiido144. Troglobite’s repaint extends that framework with a pair of liveries that give Australian aviation fans more to work with when they are staging an airport scene, filming a short, or filling out a regional fleet.

The real-world timing gives the release extra weight. Virgin Australia took delivery of its first Boeing 737-8 on June 27, 2023, and said that aircraft was the first of 33 MAX family jets it would receive over the next five years. The airline also said the 737-8 was 40% quieter and at least 15% more fuel efficient per flight than its 737-800 NG fleet, making the MAX family central to the carrier’s future.

That makes the retro repaint especially fitting. Virgin Australia unveiled its first-ever retro livery on March 27, 2026, on what it called its 150th Boeing 737, a nod to the Virgin Blue era from 2000 to 2011. In GTA V, that kind of specificity is the whole appeal: a small, well-made livery pack can do more for immersion than a louder mod ever could.
