Dangerous Man Brewing Returns to Northeast Minneapolis, Taking Over HeadFlyer Taproom Space
Dangerous Man Brewing is returning to Northeast Minneapolis this spring, taking over HeadFlyer's taproom at 861 E. Hennepin Ave. just days after HeadFlyer announced its closure.

Dangerous Man Brewing announced on March 9 that it will open a new taproom at 861 E. Hennepin Ave. in Northeast Minneapolis, taking over the space currently occupied by HeadFlyer Brewing after HeadFlyer closes its taproom doors on April 5. The move ends a hiatus that stretched back to 2023, when Dangerous Man shuttered its original Minneapolis taproom following an announced but ultimately unrealized plan to open a destination taproom in Maple Lake. The brewery went further in 2025, announcing the end of brewing operations altogether before new owner Jeremy Kuhns stepped in to revive it.
Kuhns, who acquired Dangerous Man last year with founder Rob Miller staying on as head brewer, said HeadFlyer co-owners Amy and Neil Miller approached him at the end of 2025 about buying their taproom equipment. The timing aligned: HeadFlyer had already begun reevaluating its future as the Millers' family circumstances shifted. "As our children have grown and life's demands have shifted, we began thinking intentionally about the future of HeadFlyer," Amy Miller said in a press release. "When we saw Jeremy's announcement, it felt like the right partnership to help bring Dangerous Man back to Northeast Minneapolis."
HeadFlyer will not disappear entirely after April 5. The brewery plans to continue producing beer for bars, restaurants, and liquor stores, even as it steps away from the taproom format.
For Dangerous Man, the 861 E. Hennepin Ave. location offers a meaningful logistical advantage: because HeadFlyer is actively operating the space as a brewery and taproom, no full build-out is required. The plan calls for a "DM-style" refresh before opening to the public later this spring, though no specific date has been announced. The brewery's social media framed the move in unmistakably triumphant terms: "The phoenix rises. We'll see you soon."
Kuhns described his vision for the revived taproom in the press release. "We are thrilled to bring Dangerous Man Brewing's community-focused taproom back to Northeast Minneapolis! Our vision is to recreate a welcoming space where friends and neighbors can come together over exceptional craft beer and strengthen our connections. We're committed to not just brewing great beer, but also to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community that everyone can enjoy."
The brewery's announcement promised returning flagship beers alongside experimental small-batch beers brewed on-site, with the same community-first ethos that built Dangerous Man's original following in Northeast Minneapolis. With Rob Miller back behind the brew system and a ready-made taproom waiting across town, the only remaining question is exactly which spring day the doors swing open again.
