Old 121 Brewhouse Opens Larger Flagship Taproom in Lakewood
Old 121 Brewhouse will unveil a significantly larger flagship taproom on Oak Street in Lakewood, offering a 60 seat indoor room and a beer garden that holds more than 70 guests alongside a new 15 BBL brewhouse. The grand opening on December 6 will bring new beers, live music and a community ribbon cutting, expanding options for regulars, visiting beer fans and local event organizers.

Old 121 Brewhouse is preparing to expand its footprint in Lakewood with a new flagship taproom that increases both seating and brewing capacity. The former Great Frontier Brewing space has been reworked into a 60 seat indoor taproom with a beer garden for more than 70 guests and a 15 BBL brewhouse to support new house beers and collaborative projects. The brewery will mark the opening with a public celebration on December 6 that will include a West Metro Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting at 1 PM and live music throughout the afternoon and evening.
A press release from Old 121 said that construction and permitting work over the past three months included expanded bathrooms, upgraded fixtures and growth of the outdoor seating area to complete the transition into the new flagship. The grand opening will feature new beers such as a Czech Pils and a Pale Ale along with collaborations with Milieu Fermentation, Lady Justice Brewing, Palisade Brewing and Paramount Beerwerks. Music will be provided by the Meghan Cave Duo from 2 to 4 PM and The One and Only Jon Ham from 5 to 7 PM.
Owner Katie Nicholson emphasized the community roots that drove the project. “We are so excited to start welcoming everyone into our new space,” says Owner Katie Nicholson. “Sam, Bobby, and myself love being part of the community here in Lakewood and we wouldn’t be here without our awesome neighbors and patrons. We also want to give a huge thank you and shout out to members of the Lakewood Economic Development Team, City Council and the Mayor, West Metro Fire, and everyone in the planning and permitting department for helping us get to this point.”

The new taproom will begin regular programming in December and into January with live music every Saturday, Music Bingo, Trivia and other events. On the production side the brewery will expand output of house favorites like the Old 121 Lager and West Coast IPA while offering hard and non alcoholic options and on site pizza from The Pizza Bandit. The original location will remain open under the new name Ye Olde 121 Public House at 1057 S Wadsworth Blvd, Suite 60, and will continue with expanded hours, exclusive brews brewed on a 3 BBL system, and a place for smaller scale releases and community gatherings.
