Rails & Ales returns March 7 in Wenatchee with rail-jam, 3 breweries
Rails & Ales returns to downtown Wenatchee with truckloads of Mission Ridge snow, a late-afternoon rail jam, family snow play and beer gardens from three local breweries.

Rails & Ales is bringing winter back to downtown Wenatchee, turning Orondo Avenue into a rail-jam playground with fresh snow from Mission Ridge Ski + Board Resort and beer gardens from local brewers. VisitWenatchee lists the event for Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Orondo Ave and Columbia Street, and promotional copy once billed the festival as "Numerica Credit Union Presents Rails & Ales on March 7, 2026."
The family-friendly footprint centers on Centennial Park, which will be transformed into a snow play zone from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. Mission Ridge’s ski school will offer beginner ski and snowboard opportunities, and the Wenatchee River Institute will provide snowshoes. VisitWenatchee also says attendees 21+ can explore beer gardens pouring local beers from Pinnacle Beerworks, Timberline Brewing and Hellbent Brewing; other listings have mentioned additional breweries, so check the final roster if you are chasing a particular tap.
Late-afternoon competition is the festival’s draw. Organizers and press materials describe high-flying rail-jam action built from truckloads of snow delivered to the course, with awards scheduled in Centennial Park at 8:00 p.m. Program timings differ slightly across published listings: one account puts the rail jam at 4:30 p.m., another frames competition as a 4:00–8:00 p.m. window, while live music is reported variously as running 2:30–9:00 p.m. or 12:00–10:00 p.m. Seattle’s Child lists "cash prizes up to $1,000!" for competitors, a figure not repeated in all listings. Expect a late-afternoon start for the rail jam and plan to stick around for the awards and evening music.
Food trucks and street vendors will complement the taps. Named vendors across event listings include Mountain Berry Bowls, Sammies and Hammies, Tasty Tacos, R Shack BBQ & Catering, Nomad and Aloha Dreams Mobile Espresso and Treats. The festival’s footprint and vendor roster make Rails & Ales both a neighborhood celebration and a pop-up winter market for Central Washington eateries.

Sustainability is a featured upgrade this year. VisitWenatchee outlines a zero-waste initiative in partnership with Sustainable NCW and Wenatchee Valley Rotary clubs. Waste stations will be staffed by volunteers, containers come from Wenatchee Confluence Rotary, and materials will be sorted into designated dumpsters from Winton MFG Compost Works and WM. Food vendors and breweries will use CMA-certified compostable supplies under VisitWenatchee’s "Show Love For This Place" campaign.
If you’re planning to attend, confirm final schedule, the brewery list and any age-specific wristbanding ahead of time by contacting the event organizer at info@wenatchee.org. Rails & Ales folds classic urban snowboarding and skiing spectacle into a community block party, with hands-on family programming and a stronger sustainability setup that makes it a useful stop for beer drinkers, parents and winter-sports fans alike.
