Five years after the first phone call to the city, StillFire Brewing cut the ribbon on its long-anticipated Smyrna taproom at 200 Village Green Circle, opening a 25,000-square-foot, two-story brewery and taproom that dwarfs the Suwanee flagship where the company got its start in October 2019.

The path to opening was not short. StillFire purchased the roughly one-acre property along Atlanta Road just off the Village Green, next to the Smyrna Community Center, for $600,000 in January 2022 following a 5-2 City Council vote. Groundbreaking came in September 2023, with construction delays tied to rising material costs and shifting banking conditions pushing the timeline well past initial projections. A soft opening preceded the official grand opening on Friday, March 13, which kicked off at noon and drew crowds through St. Patrick's weekend.

"It's been about five years since the first phone call to the city about this site," said Aaron Bisges at the ribbon cutting.

The scale of the Smyrna build reflects serious ambition. Spread across four bars, the taproom runs 78 tap lines carrying 32 drink options: craft beer, handcrafted cocktails, wine, non-alcoholic mocktails, and house-made root beer. A significant portion of the floor plan is dedicated to production, where StillFire will brew core beers for distribution throughout Georgia alongside small-batch taproom exclusives. The new facility is roughly three times larger than the original Suwanee location.

The signature feature is the second-floor SkyDeck rooftop, an open-air beer garden equipped with seating, umbrellas, fire pits, a full-service bar, and large screens for watching sporting events. The deck overlooks a new park and amphitheater developed by the city, a pairing that Bisges said has already been pulling visitors up to the rooftop even before the formal opening. Located about two miles from Truist Park and The Battery Atlanta, StillFire also plans to offer shuttle service between downtown Smyrna and the ballpark during Braves games.

"We really focus on the environment side of things, customer friendly. It's just like a really good neighborhood hangout place for all walks," Bisges said.

On the food side, Beto's Tacos is the permanent food partner, operating from an 800-to-900-square-foot kitchen on the beer garden patio serving a menu of 20 tacos alongside quesadillas, burritos, salads, and more. The Betos food truck is handling service while the permanent kitchen completes construction. Rev Coffee rounds out the offering with hot coffee and cold brew, extending StillFire's appeal into morning hours and positioning the space as an all-day destination. Live music runs every weekend, dedicated event space is available for private rental, and the entire facility is kid- and dog-friendly.

The awards shelf backing all of this is substantial. StillFire has accumulated more than 80 professional awards across five countries since opening, including a Silver Medal at the 2025 World Beer Cup, multiple Great American Beer Festival honors, and three Georgia Brewery of the Year titles from the New York International Beer Competition.

StillFire's origin traces to 2011, when founders Randall and Angela Veugeler launched the Suwanee American Craft Beer Fest. That event connected them with home brewer Phil Farrell, and together with Bisges, a former lawyer, the group converted a decommissioned Gwinnett County fire station into what became StillFire Brewing. The Smyrna location marks the brewery's first expansion outside Suwanee and its first foothold in Cobb County.
