Woman-Owned Greenwood Brewing to Open Downtown Chandler Taproom With Beer Garden, Wine
Greenwood Brewing will open a 2,700 sq ft indoor-outdoor taproom at 55 N. Arizona Place in The AJ with three garage doors, a 2,500 sq ft beer garden that opens to Chandler Park, wine and picnic baskets.

Greenwood Brewing, founded by Megan Greenwood, will open a new Downtown Chandler taproom at 55 N. Arizona Place in The AJ later in 2026, the company announced. The taproom will emphasize an indoor-outdoor experience with three garage doors that fold open onto a 2,500-square-foot beer garden that connects directly to the sidewalk and Chandler Park, and the indoor space measures roughly 2,700 square feet.
The menu will lean on Greenwood’s award-winning core beers while expanding into wine and light food. Greenwood’s signature pours include Inbloom Blueberry Wheat, Greenwood Light Lager, Warrior Hazy IPA, Purpose Pilsner and Herstory Pale Ale; Greenwood Brewing also has produced seasonal sips such as Rosemary IPA and the Harvest Diem Spice Ale, served with a honey and cinnamon-sugar rim. The company says the Chandler taproom will offer a curated beer and wine menu, featuring a thoughtfully developed wine program created in collaboration with a sommelier partner, plus small bites and take-away picnic baskets intended for patrons to enjoy in nearby parks.
Operationally, Greenwood will not brew on site. Megan Greenwood told Phoenix New Times that the brewery’s Phoenix production facility has capacity to supply two to three taprooms, so no beer will be brewed at the Chandler location. Greenwood has also signaled partnerships for food and neighborhood activation but has not yet named collaborators; she said, "we're partnering with some really, really cool people that we'll be announcing soon," and described plans to "wheel out some Frisbees and soccer balls and some activities for people to go be in the park and be able to come have a pint after."
Megan Greenwood’s path to Chandler is rooted in a decade of local brewing; she began with a home-brew kit in her garage and opened Greenwood’s Downtown Phoenix brewery in 2020. The brewery has collected more than ten medals at the Arizona Craft Beer Awards, an 11-medal tally spanning two medals in 2022, three in 2023, three in 2024 and three in 2025, and was named the 2025 Arizona Travel Awards winner for Best Brewery.
The AJ, a mixed-use development owned by retail real estate investment firm Asana Partners, sits at the southeast corner of Arizona Avenue and Buffalo Street just outside Chandler Park and is surrounded by public green space. Mayor Kevin Hartke praised the move, saying, "Greenwood Brewing will be an excellent addition to Downtown Chandler. This is a great example of how strategic city investment, thoughtful park renovation and intentional placemaking support businesses that have built strong reputations and loyal customer bases. Greenwood Brewing will be a welcome addition to the local businesses that make up our downtown, and we’re excited to welcome their team to our community."
The company’s announcement appeared in mid-February; the brewery’s press materials list Feb. 18, 2026, while a feature piece carried a Feb. 10, 2026 dateline. Greenwood has not provided a specific opening day; reports place the taproom opening window as "later in 2026" with some local reporting calling it "this fall." The Chandler taproom will join a walkable craft-beer corridor that includes SanTan Brewing Company, Pedal Haus Brewery and The Perch, and Greenwood Brewing is also named among local operators eyed for future service at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
