Auroom launches VelEira, its first cold plunge for sauna pairing
Auroom's first cold plunge is built to match its saunas, down to Aurea, Quu and Mira cladding, and it drops water to about 3°C.

Auroom has pushed the contrast-therapy setup closer to a finished outdoor room, not just another recovery tub. VelEira is the Estonian company’s first dedicated cold plunge, and it is pitched as the cold side of a matched sauna-and-plunge circuit for homeowners who care as much about the look of the terrace as the plunge temperature.
The headline spec is straightforward: VelEira reaches approximately 3°C, or about 37.4°F, and it uses a 330-liter shell, roughly 87 gallons. Auroom says the unit combines a fiberglass construction with PUR thermal insulation, plus an integrated water chiller and built-in LED lighting around the upper rim and side wall. In practical terms, that puts the product in the premium, fixed-installation camp rather than the bucket-and-ice routine that still defines much of the category.

Where VelEira separates itself is the install logic. Auroom says it can sit on a terrace as a standalone piece or be recessed into the terrace for a cleaner, more integrated finish. The company is also selling the plunge as a visual match to its outdoor saunas, with exterior cladding styles aligned to Aurea, Quu and Mira. For buyers trying to build a coherent wellness deck, that matters as much as the cold number on the spec sheet.
That design-first approach is the real premium here. Instead of treating the plunge as a separate accessory, Auroom is bundling it into the same architectural language as its saunas, so the wood tones and finish profiles can line up across the full setup. The result is a complete heat-cold ritual that looks planned from the start, whether it lands beside a backyard sauna, on a rooftop, or in a hospitality spa deck.
The move also fits Auroom’s position inside Thermory, which says it is the world’s leading manufacturer of sauna materials and ready-made saunas, with 90% of production exported to more than 50 countries. Auroom itself became an independent company in April 2021 after being spun off from Thermory AS, and VelEira reads like the next step in that evolution: a sauna brand moving from selling rooms to selling the full circuit around them.
That matters because the cold-plunge market is shifting. A 2024 PLOS One review examined cold-water immersion in healthy adults, including plunges at 15°C or lower, while Harvard Health later summarized research suggesting possible reductions in stress and improvements in sleep and quality of life. VelEira does not prove the benefits, but it does show where the category is headed: toward permanent, design-conscious installations that make the plunge feel less like an add-on and more like the missing half of the sauna experience.
