A construction wall reading "coming soon" has gone up around Pop Mart's future first-floor storefront at Tysons Corner Center, near GameStop and Wasabi, confirming the Beijing-based collectibles company is building out its second retail location in the Washington, D.C. region.

Pop Mart Americas spokesperson Marco Negrete told FFXnow by email: "This location is currently scheduled to open in Q4, and we will have more info to share closer to then." That puts the Tysons opening on a Q4 2026 timeline, potentially in time for holiday shopping, though store fit-out timing will determine whether Pop Mart hits the season with a full launch or stages a later opening.

The company had already been quietly testing the Tysons market before committing to a permanent storefront. Two Robo Shop vending machines have been operating in the mall: one near Barnes & Noble and one in the third-floor food court. That deployment pattern mirrors Pop Mart's broader U.S. expansion playbook, using automated retail to establish demand before converting it into a full store where collectors can access inventory directly and attend in-store events.

The Tysons location follows the Pentagon City store, which opened last November and marked Pop Mart's entry into the D.C. market. Founded in Beijing in 2010, Pop Mart now runs more than 500 stores and 2,300 Robo Shops across 30 countries, along with a toy exhibition that launched in 2017 and a theme park in Beijing established in 2023. Its most recognizable IP, the grinning bunny-eared Labubu, has generated in-store rushes and a persistent resale market everywhere the brand has landed. Last week, Pop Mart confirmed a partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment on a new Labubu movie, a deal that will push the character deeper into mainstream visibility well before the Tysons doors open.

For the local collector community, a permanent storefront shifts the supply equation in ways two Robo Shops cannot. An official location creates the infrastructure for restocks, exclusive product drops, and eventized releases that drive both in-store traffic and secondary-market pricing. How Pop Mart structures that inventory deployment at Tysons will be the detail that matters most once the construction wall comes down.

Pop Mart has not yet disclosed store hours, square footage, staffing, or specific product plans for the Tysons location. More details, per Negrete, will come closer to the Q4 opening.
