Monument Hobbies expands PRO Acryl 1-Step with 12 new colors

Monument Hobbies is adding 12 more colors to PRO Acryl 1-Step, and the extra wave makes the line easier to use as a real speed-painting palette instead of a one-off novelty. The second set will prerelease at Gen Con 2026 and then reach worldwide availability in mid-August, giving painters another shot at a line built around one-layer coverage.

PRO Acryl 1-Step is meant to give “vibrant color in one single layer,” and Monument Hobbies has been rolling it out in stages all year. The first 12 colors, plus Special Sauce, went live on May 18 on the company’s US and EU websites and at local PRO Acryl retailers after an AdeptiCon 2026 prerelease. That matters because Set 2 is not replacing Set 1; it is expanding a range that already launched as a compact starter block.

The new wave looks useful in the exact places where the first 12 could feel tight. Monument Hobbies’ promotional posts specifically name Bronze Yellow, Scarlet Red, Yellow Green, Dark Brown, Dark Turquoise, Bright Slate Grey, and Dark Green Blue, a mix that covers both force-wide work and sharper accent jobs. That is the real appeal here. If you are batch-painting infantry, picking out armor panels, or trying to keep an entire army inside one coherent color family, more 1-Step options mean fewer compromises and less backtracking into layering.

The line is also built to be flexible beyond straight one-coat application. Monument Hobbies says Special Sauce can dilute other 1-Step colors or turn other PRO Acryl paints into 1-Step paints, and the company backs the range with tutorials on mixing, glazing, and filtering. That makes Set 2 more interesting for painters who already use airbrush priming, controlled washes, or fast display-piece workflows, because the new colors can slot into an existing PRO Acryl setup instead of forcing a full paint-line switch.

If you already bought Set 1, Set 2 looks like the more practical buy once you hit the spots the first wave could not cover. If you mainly layer slowly and already own enough similar hues, you can wait. But if you want faster army painting without giving up punchy color choices, this is the kind of expansion that actually earns space on the desk.
