Mikrotakt Premieres The Nihilist, Lead Single from Abandoned by Light EP
Mikrotakt's "The Nihilist" landed on Vault Sessions yesterday as the lead cut from Abandoned by Light EP, catalogue MIKRO004, on Berlin's MIKRO WRX.

Vault Sessions premiered "The Nihilist" by Mikrotakt on March 13, the lead single from the Abandoned by Light EP, released digitally through Berlin-based MIKRO WRX under catalogue number MIKRO004. The release marks the fourth entry in the label's catalogue, a sub-label of PRTL WRX operating in the minimal and micro techno space.
Everything on the release stays in-house. Mikrotakt handled both the artwork and, credited alongside PW Mastering, the mastering duties. The pairing of those credits under a single name points to the kind of tightly self-directed project that has become a signature of the Berlin-adjacent micro techno underground: no outside hands on the aesthetics, no outsourced finishing.
The Abandoned by Light EP sits alongside three other releases in the MIKRO WRX digital discography: Into the Heart of the Storm EP, The Plot Twist EP, and It Was My Life EP. The full catalogue is available on Bandcamp as a bundle priced at £12.35 GBP or more, currently at 35% off, with unlimited streaming included via the Bandcamp app. The label maintains a presence across Bandcamp, Beatport, SoundCloud (@mikrowrx), and Instagram, with an additional hub at prtlwrx.com.
Reaction to the Vault Sessions premiere was immediate if brief. User mda9977 dropped three shaking-face emojis; angie offered "wowee." For a genre where restraint is the whole aesthetic, that tracks.
Mikrotakt is findable at @mikrotakt on SoundCloud and Instagram, and at mikrotakt.bandcamp.com for those wanting to dig into the back catalogue directly.
