Space 92 Reworks Oxia's 2006 Minimal Techno Classic Domino With High Energy

Mathieu Mourareau, the Lyon-based DJ and producer known as Space 92, dropped a high-energy rework of one of minimal techno's most recognizable records: Oxia's "Domino." The rework surfaced online on March 23, 2026, and has been spreading rapidly across social platforms and DJ sets without yet carrying an official release date.

The original "Domino," by French producer Olivier Raymond, was released in 2006 as part of the Speicher 34 EP, with its hypnotic and instantly recognizable melody becoming an icon of minimal techno. Originally released on Kompakt, the track later celebrated its tenth anniversary with a six-version remix EP on Agoria's Sapiens label, cementing its status as a cross-genre touchstone that transcended the minimal scene it was born in.

Space 92's rework builds around that iconic original melody, enhanced by a driving beat and a high-BPM drop that delivers intense energy. The harder version blends elements of peak-time techno while still maintaining clear references to hard trance, and it has been receiving strong support and appreciation from producers across the scene. The shift in register is deliberate and unambiguous: where Oxia's original sat at 129 BPM with a hypnotic, rolling groove, Space 92 pushes the tempo and the tension firmly into late-night, main room territory.

Mourareau has carved out a significant space for himself in recent years through a series of solid, well-crafted releases, gaining recognition even beyond his core genre. His interpretation of "Domino," despite not yet having an official release date, is already gaining strong traction across social media.

What makes this rework interesting from a community standpoint is the source material Space 92 chose to touch. "Domino" is not merely a beloved record; it is a fault line in the history of techno. When the track first appeared, it made waves in the international dance music circuit, striking chords with techno, trance, and house DJs alike.
