Diablo Immortal is getting a real gameplay hook, not just a Doom-branded coat of paint. The Slayers Reign event starts April 16 and runs through May 13, with Slayer’s Bane opening a day earlier on April 15. That timing matters because Blizzard is packaging this as a limited run, which gives players a short window to chase the themed drops, test the new mode, and show off rewards before the crossover disappears.

The core draw is Slayer’s Bane, Blizzard’s Doom-flavored take on Survivor’s Bane. It shifts the pace toward speed, aggression, and crowd control, and it comes with six unique Slayer-inspired skills built around whirling shields, hard-hitting strikes, and sustained firepower. The lineup leans hard into the fantasy of being a Doom Slayer dropped into Sanctuary, with the Shield Saw, Dreadmace, and Super Shotgun all folded into the event’s combat setup. That makes this more than a cosmetic mash-up. The mode should feel different enough to change how players move, aim, and time their damage.

Blizzard is also loading the event with collectables. The reward pool includes Praetor Armor, weapon skins, a Cacodemon familiar, a new Serrat mount, and The Crucible, a 2-star legendary gem that grants Slayer’s Rage and increases damage and movement speed. Blizzard’s event page also lists Ruthless Hellwalker in the Phantom Market, along with Slayers’ Companions and DOOM login rewards. For players who care about practical value, that combination of free login incentives, mode rewards, and premium cosmetics is exactly the kind of stack that can tempt a return visit.

The enemy roster helps sell the crossover too. Imps and the Cyberdemon are both in play, and Blizzard identifies the Cyberdemon as the main boss in Slayer’s Bane. Diablo Immortal has already used this live-service format to pull players back for big crossover beats, including Eternal War with World of Warcraft from November 13 to December 11, 2024, when players fought the Lich King and earned the Mourneskull Legendary Gem. That history makes the Doom event look less like a one-off stunt and more like Blizzard using the mobile ARPG as a standing stage for franchise collisions. For players who have drifted away, a new mode, a new gem, and a hard deadline are the parts most likely to matter.
