Whether your squad peaked at 107 OVR or stalled mid-table heading into summer 2025 came down almost entirely to how you managed the 26-day stretch between Pitch Beats and TOTS. The April roadmap, shared by a prominent leaker with strong community engagement, initially put TOTS starting April 23. The actual launch landed April 29, confirmed on EA's official channels, a six-day difference that turned out to matter because it overlapped directly with the Songkran Splash end window.

That is the save-vs-spend trap in one sentence: Songkran Splash ran April 10 through April 24, ending just five days before TOTS went live. Players who pushed hard into Songkran packs during that final week arrived at TOTS launch running on fumes. The smarter move was treating Songkran Splash as a login-and-complete-the-free-chapter event and holding reserves for April 29.

Pitch Beats opened the month on April 3, with its second week launching April 10 alongside Songkran Splash, which meant two concurrent events competed for your resources for two weeks straight. The leaked roadmap also flagged an April Fools Bobo Cup, a national squads event, and an Easter event in the mix, though those did not appear in the community calendar that tracked Pitch Beats and Songkran with confirmed dates. Four events in one month is aggressive content pacing, and it was clearly designed to test whether players could stay disciplined.

TOTS itself ran 51 days, from April 29 through June 19, 2025, with a new league chapter unlocking each week. The chapter structure rewarded patience: the Ligue 1 chapter dropped 2,000 free gems, the Premier League chapter delivered 10 million coins, and Serie A added another 2,000 gems on top. That meant TOTS handed back significant resources to players who did not overspend entering the event. The ultimate prize at the end of completing all chapters was a 107 OVR UTOTS player, untradable, which made the free-to-grind path genuinely worth it.

TOTS Shards were the key resource to protect. Burning them on 106 OVR players was the mistake that stung retrospectively, since those cards hit the market at low coin prices within days of each league chapter dropping. The correct play was holding shards for 108 to 109 OVR selections, where the market premium made the exchange meaningful. Coin exchanges for TOTS Player Item Packs and the Star Pass Upgrade Exchange added further flexibility for players who had stockpiled coins rather than gems.

UTOTS arrived June 5, 2025, extending the top-end power curve for another month. The players who coasted into TOTS with full gem stacks and coin reserves were the ones with real options when UTOTS hit. The entire April roadmap, for all its content density, was a single question: could you resist spending when the calendar was telling you to spend on everything at once?
