Garena Free Fire teams up with Gintama for limited-time crossover event
Free Fire’s Gintama crossover brought Yorozuya to Battle Royale maps, plus free mission rewards like the Gintoki Motorbike skin and Justaway grenade.

Gintoki Sakata, Kagura and Elizabeth stepped into Free Fire as Garena kicked off a limited-time GINTAMA crossover built around one big player question: what can you grab for free, and what only opens if you spend? The event ran from April 24 to May 23, 2026, and it leaned hard into the anime’s comedy and visual identity with themed skins, weapons and map content instead of a simple costume dump.
The biggest in-match change was the Yorozuya building, which appeared across all Free Fire Battle Royale maps during the event. Players could enter both floors, with the Yorozuya office upstairs and Otose’s Izakaya on the ground floor, giving the crossover a real footprint on the map rather than leaving it in the event menu. Garena also added a Yorozuya-themed Gloo Wall as a purchasable collectible, which makes sense for players who like to stockpile limited cosmetics even when the item is more about style than raw utility.
Free rewards were the clearest reason to log in. The trailer listed mission unlocks including the Gintoki Motorbike skin, a Justaway grenade, a Mayo on Rice Loot Box skin, plus a Gintama avatar and banner. That puts the giveaway side of the collab squarely in the “worth checking daily” category, especially for players who already chase Free Fire’s rotating event tabs and know how quickly these missions disappear once the crossover window closes.

The spend-heavy side was broader, with bundles for Gintoki and Kagura in both their GINTAMA and Mr. Ginpachi’s Zany Class versions. Garena also tied in an Elizabeth outfit, Gintoki’s pink strawberry underwear cosmetic, Sogo Okita’s eye mask and Shinpachi Shimura’s glasses. Weapon-themed items included a Kagura-inspired umbrella Winchester skin and a Toyako sword-style Katana, which is exactly the kind of flashy, fandom-first loot Free Fire uses to keep its live-service cadence loud.
The timing matters because Free Fire keeps doing this. IGN India noted the game’s earlier Jujutsu Kaisen crossover, Jujutsu Awakening, ran from January 14 to February 13, 2026, and Garena says Free Fire has been the most downloaded mobile game in its genre for seven straight years, citing Sensor Tower App Performance Insights. Regional timing may still vary, too: North American coverage pointed to an April 27 to May 7 window, while Garena Indonesia listed April 24 to May 23. If your version follows the longer schedule, the practical move is simple: claim the free missions first, then decide whether the rest of the crossover is worth your currency or just another pile of anime cosmetics.
