Hitman: Absolution on iOS and Android just got the kind of free update that changes how long you keep a premium game installed. Feral Interactive added Contracts mode on May 14, giving mobile players a cross-platform asynchronous multiplayer layer built around player-made assassination puzzles instead of just the campaign they already finished once.

The setup is simple and exactly the sort of thing Hitman thrives on. Players can pick up to three marks from story-mode environments, decide how each target should die, and publish the Contract online for other players to attempt. That alone turns familiar missions into a much sharper replay loop, because a good Contract is less about running the level once and more about designing a solution somebody else will have to crack.

The scoring system gives the mode real teeth. Weapons and disguises set the base Contract, while bonus conditions such as hiding bodies and avoiding detection push the score higher. In practice, that means the mobile port now rewards the same clean, obsessive route-planning that made Hitman: Absolution work in the first place, only now the challenge is coming from other players instead of the mission script.

Feral is also keeping the mode alive instead of letting it sit as a one-and-done novelty. The company is surfacing Featured Contracts that mix its own team-made assignments with especially clever or difficult player creations, and it has added cross-platform leaderboards plus time-limited Competitions so friends can run the same hit and compare execution inside a deadline. That is the kind of feature set that gives a mobile release a reason to stay installed long after launch.

The timing matters too. Hitman: Absolution launched on mobile on October 16, 2025, with Contracts mode originally promised as a free post-release addition in early 2026. It is now here on iPhone and Android at no extra cost, while Feral says the Nintendo Switch version will get the update soon, with a free Switch 2 upgrade also planned for 2026. Contracts mode was part of the original 2012 release on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, and bringing it to mobile finally makes this version feel like the full community-driven Hitman experience rather than just a portable campaign.
