Pokémon GO June Community Day spotlights Frigibax and Glaive Rush Baxcalibur

Frigibax Community Day packed its biggest payoff into a tight three-hour window on Saturday, June 20, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Frigibax appeared more often in the wild, giving trainers the usual Community Day mix of shiny hunting, special background chasing, and fast stockpiling before the clock ran out.

The real hook was evolution value. Evolving Arctibax during the event, or up to four hours afterward, gave Baxcalibur the Charged Attack Glaive Rush. Pokémon GO lists Glaive Rush at 90 power in Trainer Battles and 105 power in Gyms and raids, which makes this more than a collection flex. Baxcalibur already carries late-game appeal as a Dragon and Ice final evolution, and the move upgrade gives it a cleaner case for players building for PvP or PvE.

Niantic also loaded the day with the standard Community Day resource push. The Special Research ticket cost US$1.99, or the equivalent in local currency, and it paid out additional Frigibax encounters, including three with a Special Background, plus one Premium Battle Pass and one Rare Candy XL. The event bonuses leaned hard into farming: 3× Stardust for catching Pokémon, 2× Catch Candy, an increased Candy XL chance for trainers level 31 and above, and longer Incense and Lure Module durations.

The window stretched beyond the main event in one useful way. From 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time, Frigibax was attracted to regular Lure Modules at PokéStops, which made late-session grinding a lot more efficient for anyone chasing a better IV roll or trying to finish the line. Field research tasks also offered extra rewards, so the most efficient route was clear: stack catches, keep a close eye on Arctibax candy, and save the evolution for the right timer.

Community features mattered too. The Special Research ticket could be gifted to friends with Great Friends status or higher, trainers received one additional Special Trade for a total of two, and trades during the event period got a 50 percent Stardust discount. With Pokémon GO’s Community Ambassador and Community Campsite programs built around local meetups, Frigibax Community Day fit the same live-service pattern Niantic has used all year: a desirable species, a high-value move, and a short, sharp schedule that rewards anyone who plans ahead.
