Puzzle & Dragons launches Gintama crossover with limited-time dungeons

Puzzle & Dragons brought back Gintama with more than costume-fluff: the crossover packed a 10-Magic-Stone Gintama Egg Machine, six collab-exclusive dungeons and a quest ladder that paid out up to 10 Magic Stones. The event ran from June 25 at 18:00 through July 12 at 17:59 UTC-8, and the practical value sat in the dungeon rewards as much as the pull targets.

GungHo put Gintoki Sakata, Shinpachi Shimura, Kagura and other Gintama characters into the Egg Machine, and players who did five pulls at once received a Gintama [2020] Bonus Egg Machine x5 Pulls reward by in-game mail. That kind of bonus matters in Puzzle & Dragons because crossover banners live or die on whether the machine gives you a reason to commit stones in chunks instead of sniping one pull and walking away. Here, the event nudged players toward a multi-pull loop rather than a one-and-done collector chase.

Some of those floors also boosted Rank EXP, Coins and + value gains after +Limit Breakthrough when players used Gintama collab characters, which made the crossover feel like a short-term farming route instead of a purely cosmetic theme pack.

There were also clear chase rewards that pushed the event beyond fandom nostalgia. Clearing Gintama: Collect Justaway - Gold / Silver / Bronze rewarded the Mini Icon, Elizabeth. Defeating the boss in Tendoshu, Utsuro Descended! guaranteed a Tendoshu, Utsuro drop, and Kabukicho Colosseum! had a 100% drop rate if cleared with a Gintama collab character as leader. Silver-Haired Samurai, Gintoki Sakata also received an Ultimate Evolution, while Gintoki Sakata & Shinsuke Takasugi and other select characters picked up Assist Evolutions or other upgrades.

That is the part that keeps a crossover alive in 2026 mobile terms. Puzzle & Dragons was not just selling Gintama art and character nostalgia; it was dangling guaranteed drops, a progression-focused quest ladder and upgraded units that can earn roster spots long after the event window closes. The same franchise that crossed over in the West from April 24 through May 10, 2020 returned with a broader utility package, and this time the clock was already ticking.
