Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Gets Free DLC Adding Red, Majima, and Arle
SEGA is dropping Angry Birds' Red, Like a Dragon's Captain Majima, and Puyo Puyo's Arle as free DLC for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds starting in April.

SEGA revealed via trailer that three guest characters are joining Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds as free DLC over the next two months: Red from Angry Birds, Goro Majima in his Captain Majima form from Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, and Arle from the Puyo Puyo puzzle series. Each comes with a dedicated vehicle, and none of them will cost players a single cent.
Red and Captain Majima are both slated for April 2026, with Arle following in May. Red brings the Super Roaster vehicle, while Captain Majima arrives behind the wheel of the Goromaru, a kart modeled after his in-game ship from Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. Arle rounds out the trio with the Twinkle Bayoen. Exact day-of-month release dates haven't been set yet; SEGA has said those will be announced closer to launch.
Worth noting on Red's design: his character model appears to draw from his appearance in the 2016 Angry Birds animated film rather than his original mobile game look, which gives him a slightly more polished, expressive feel on the track.
The Patch 3 Update that sets the stage for all of this goes live March 18 at 5:00 PM PT, which is 8:00 PM EDT. Alongside the character announcements, Patch 3 adds eight new tracks to the in-game jukebox under the "SEGA Racing & Variety" music pack. Four of those tracks have been confirmed by name: "MAGICAL SOUND SHOWER" composed by Hiro from Outrun, "Let's Go Away" by Takenobu Mitsuyoshi from Daytona USA, "Soul on Desert" by Jun Senoue from SEGA Rally 2, and "Like The Wind (B Course) Arcade Version" by Hiro from Power Drift. The remaining four tracks in the pack haven't been officially listed yet.

This continues a dense run of DLC drops for CrossWorlds. The Minecraft pack with Steve, Alex, and Creeper launched October 9, followed by Like a Dragon's Ichiban on November 5, SpongeBob and Patrick plus the Bikini Bottom track on November 19, NiGHTS from Nights into Dreams on December 24, the full Pac-Man pack including the four Ghosts and Pac-Village track on January 7, AiAi from Super Monkey Ball on February 11, and Tangle and Whisper from IDW Publishing's Sonic the Hedgehog comic on February 25. The pipeline doesn't slow down from here either: a CAPCOM collaboration bringing Mega Man, Protoman, and Dr. Wily's Castle is confirmed for 2026.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available on Windows PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PS4, and PS5.
