Streets of Rage 4 is free on Epic Games Store mobile app, time-limited giveaway
Streets of Rage 4 is free in Epic’s mobile app until May 7, and once you claim it, it stays in your library forever.

Streets of Rage 4 is the kind of mobile freebie worth stopping for: a premium beat-’em-up that costs nothing to claim right now, but only if you grab it through the Epic Games Store mobile app before May 7, 2026. Once redeemed, it stays in your library permanently, which makes this a far better pickup than the usual throwaway mobile promo.
The catch is that this is a mobile-only giveaway, not a PC freebie. Epic’s mobile storefront runs a weekly free-game program, with a new free game every Thursday, and the app itself is available on Android worldwide. On iPhone and iPad, access is limited to the European Union and on iPhone in Japan, with Brazil planned later in 2026 and more regions still slated to open over time. If the app is available where you live, open it, sign in, and claim the game before the deadline passes.
That regional split matters because Epic’s mobile push is still rolling out in stages. The company launched its free-games program on Android worldwide and iOS in the European Union in January 2025, so this giveaway fits into a broader mobile rollout rather than a one-off stunt. For players already checking Epic every Thursday, Streets of Rage 4 is the sort of headline-grabber that makes the app feel worth keeping installed.
The game itself has enough weight to justify the attention. Streets of Rage 4 first launched on April 30, 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Game Pass at $24.99, then extended the series after a 25-year gap. Developed by Dotemu, Guard Crush Games and Lizardcube, it brought back the side-scrolling brawler with hand-drawn visuals, combo-heavy combat, co-op play and controller support. Epic’s listing also notes single-player and online multiplayer, along with about 1.72 GB of installation space and a 1.57 GB download on Android.
This is the rare mobile freebie that does not feel like a compromise. Streets of Rage 4 was critically acclaimed and nominated for Best Action Game at The Game Awards 2020, and its Mr. X Nightmare DLC arrived on July 15, 2021 with three new playable fighters and a Survival mode. For mobile players used to energy timers, ads and gacha pressure, getting a full-priced premium brawler to keep forever is the easy shareable part of the story.
