Greater Sioux Falls Model Train Show Returns for 12th Annual Event in March
The Dakota Southeastern Division of the NMRA brings its 12th annual Greater Sioux Falls Model Train Show to the Sioux Falls Convention Center on March 21-22.

The Dakota Southeastern Division of the NMRA is bringing its 12th annual Greater Sioux Falls Model Train Show to the Sioux Falls Convention Center this weekend, with doors opening Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22, 2026.
The DSED, which serves model railroaders across the greater Sioux Falls, South Dakota area, issued its press release for the show on March 9. The division has confirmed a roster of vendors and exhibitors for the two-day event, noting the list is "subject to change" and directing interested visitors to the GSFMTS page for the most current details. NMRA Achievement Program clinics are also on the program, though the full clinic schedule and presenter names have not yet been published.
Behind the scenes, the division put serious prep work into its traveling layouts well before opening weekend. Over the weekend of February 28 through March 1, members staged a work session specifically to get the HO scale and N scale modules ready for the show floor. Photos from that session are posted on the DSED website for anyone curious about the build and maintenance process that goes into keeping a division's module fleet show-ready.

Looking slightly further ahead, DSED is also continuing its Community Education outreach. The division will again lead a Model Railroading 101 class focused on building N scale T-trak modules, with sessions running Tuesday evenings throughout April. Registration details and photos from previous classes are available on the DSED ComEd page.
The Greater Sioux Falls Model Train Show takes place March 21 and 22 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. Admission prices, show hours, and parking information should be confirmed directly through DSED before heading out.
