Prego expanded its jarred sauce lineup with three new varieties: Lemon Alfredo, Cajun Alfredo, and a Margherita tomato-style sauce, each priced at $3.69 and available on Amazon now, with U.S. retail stores set to stock them in June 2026.

The two new Alfredo additions represent a deliberate push into a growing category. "Alfredo is the second largest and second-fastest-growing segment in Italian Sauce, with families increasingly using Alfredo sauce in recipes beyond traditional pasta nights," a Prego representative said in an email. The brand describes both Alfredo sauces as made with fresh cream and real cheese, positioning them as weeknight-friendly options that don't require starting from scratch.

The Lemon Alfredo is the more unexpected of the two: a cream-based sauce with a citrus-forward profile suited to lighter dishes like Chicken Primavera Pasta Bake or Lemon Chicken and Asparagus Skillet. It works just as well tossed with hot noodles and frozen peas for a minimal-effort dinner. The Cajun Alfredo leans into versatility: it functions as a straight pasta sauce for chicken Cajun pasta, but also holds up stirred into a Cajun crab bisque, layered into a Cajun lasagna, or used as a dipping sauce alongside Cajun shrimp or a seafood boil.

Rounding out the trio is the Margherita Sauce, a tomato-based option that Prego frames as a new take on a classic formulation. No specific recipe pairings accompanied the Margherita at launch, though the brand positions it as a way to bring fresh flavor to standard family dinners.

Prego, which has been producing pasta sauces for 45 years, is timing the Amazon rollout ahead of the broader retail push. Shoppers who want to get ahead of the June store debut can already order all three varieties online. Each jar carries the same $3.69 suggested retail price regardless of variety.

The launch fits into a wider pattern Trendhunter analyst Michael Hemsworth noted in early March: e-commerce listings for affordably priced gourmet sauces point to a shift in retail assortment strategies toward discovery-driven, impulse-purchase products. At $3.69, all three Prego sauces land squarely in that impulse-friendly tier while still carrying the premium flavor positioning the brand is leaning into.
