Leica Camera AG Names Andreas Voll as CEO, Effective April 2026
Leica names 44-year-old IWC Schaffhausen veteran Andreas Voll as its next CEO, with the former luxury watch COO taking the helm on April 1.

Leica Camera AG has named Andreas Voll as its new Chief Executive Officer, with the 44-year-old executive set to take over from outgoing CEO Matthias Harsch on April 1, 2026. The Supervisory Board of the Wetzlar-based company made the appointment official on March 16, describing Voll as a proven leader with extensive international management experience and recognized expertise in premium technology, brand management, and strategic corporate development.
Voll arrives at Leica with a career built almost entirely in the luxury and consulting sectors. He began at Roland Berger before joining Swiss watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen, where he spent 15 years and ultimately rose to the position of Chief Operating Officer. In 2023, he briefly served as CEO of the Fischer Group, a global company specializing in fastening technology, before his appointment to lead one of photography's most storied brands.
Harsch, who took the helm in 2017, will manage day-to-day operations through the end of March to ensure an orderly handover. His contract concludes at the end of that month after nearly eight years guiding Leica. He will then remain associated with the company in an advisory capacity for selected projects.
Dr. Andreas Kaufmann, who chairs the Supervisory Board, framed the transition as a deliberate "rejuvenation" of Leica's leadership while insisting its core identity will not shift. "Our products are more than tools — they are cultural objects and an expression of a distinctive photographic mindset. This DNA will remain unchanged under the new leadership," Kaufmann said. The Supervisory Board also expressed sincere appreciation for Harsch's tenure, noting that under his direction Leica further strengthened its position as a global premium brand in photography and optics while expanding into new business areas.
Leica emphasized that German engineering excellence, traditional manufacturing in Wetzlar, and its globally engaged photography community will remain central to the company's strategy under Voll. Specific strategic priorities for his tenure were referenced in the official press release but not detailed in materials released alongside the announcement.
