A $15 million indoor pickleball complex is set to open its doors on March 14, 2026, bringing 17 courts, a championship arena, and a full kitchen and bar to 900 N. Opdyke Road in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Greystone Pickleball Club spans 60,000 square feet across five acres and was designed by Frank Salamone Architect, with engineering services handled by Nowak & Fraus of Pontiac. Construction was slated for completion in fall 2025, setting up the spring grand opening. Co-owners Pat Chisholm and Jack McInerney have emphasized from the start that they intend to retain full operating control of the facility rather than lease it to outside operators, a deliberate departure from how many competing venues in the space are structured.

The centerpiece of the complex is a championship court with more than 300 spectator seats and VIP boxes, giving Auburn Hills a venue capable of hosting serious tournament play. The remaining courts round out a facility that, according to Greystone's own event programming page, can accommodate private tournaments, corporate team-building events, fundraisers, and family gatherings with catering and exclusive court access built into the package.

Beyond the courts, the amenity stack here is genuinely impressive for a regional facility. There's a full pro shop stocked with equipment and apparel, luxury lounges for pre- and post-match downtime, a kitchen and bar serving scratch-made food, an upstairs mezzanine for private functions, and a podcasting room available for rent. Dee Geelhood, a former tennis instructor, will manage the club and oversee its roster of tournaments, leagues, and private lessons from professional coaches.

The fee model is worth noting: Greystone will operate without annual or monthly membership fees, charging only a small registration fee. That's an accessible entry point for casual players who want to dip their toes in without committing to a recurring subscription.

Thomas A. Tanghe, who got an early look at the facility, posted his reaction on LinkedIn: "Auburn Hills welcomes Greystone Pickleball Club as Michigan's premier destination for the sport. Great location! Great facility! Great vision by the owners and their team! Wishing you nothing but success. I've had a sneak preview and can't wait for everyone to see it and to play." Dave LewAllen, who featured the club on his podcast, called it "a Pickleball palace."

For Southeast Michigan players who've been making do with gym conversions and outdoor courts, a purpose-built 60,000-square-foot venue with spectator seating and VIP infrastructure represents a meaningful step up. The grand opening is scheduled for March 14, 2026, at 900 N. Opdyke Rd, Auburn Hills, MI 48326.
