Pickleball Prime Opens 10-Court Indoor Facility in Mineola, Long Island
Pickleball Prime drew 1,000+ reservations within weeks of its March 4 opening, with a 10-court indoor facility in a converted Mineola industrial building already hosting its first tournament.

A Long Island family converted a former industrial building at 205 E. Second St. in Mineola into one of the most fully loaded indoor pickleball facilities on the island, and the early numbers suggest they read the market right. Maggie Regan presented the plan to open Pickleball Prime, a 10-court pickleball facility, with her father and brother to the Mineola board. The three partners, John Coghlan, his daughter Maggie Regan, and his son Kevin Coghlan, opened Pickleball Prime on March 4, and demand hit immediately.
The facility features climate-controlled indoor courts, 10 pro-cushion courts, a large mezzanine overlooking the courts, two Trackman golf simulators, open play sessions, organized leagues, and clinics and lessons for all skill levels. Kevin Coghlan, who also works in sales for a software company, said more than 1,000 members and nonmembers reserved court space within just a few weeks of opening. A tournament held shortly after the launch drew more than 100 participants. "Plus, we probably had another 20 to 30 just spectators," Kevin said.
The founding membership tier, priced at $240 annually, sold out. The facility currently offers two active membership tiers: a Prime membership at $20 per month, which includes a 10% discount on leagues, clinics, and open play and the ability to reserve courts up to 10 days in advance; and an Unlimited Off Peak membership at $50 per month, which covers the member's share of court rental costs during weekday off-peak hours from noon to 4 p.m., with reservations available up to 14 days out. Both tiers are listed as introductory pricing, and both allow cancellations up to 24 hours in advance without penalty. Non-members can book up to seven days in advance, and there are no guest rates.
Beyond the 10 courts with professional cushioned flooring, the mezzanine is built for watching, working, and gathering, giving the venue the kind of social infrastructure that keeps players hanging around after their session ends. The two premium golf simulators are available for private bookings and round out a facility designed to hold attention well past the final point.

Open play is structured as an opportunity to play with new people of varying skill levels, billed as a great way to expand your network of pickleball players. Leagues pit players of similar skill levels against each other in a structured format, while group clinics pair participants with experienced instructors.
Pickleball Prime joins a Long Island indoor market that has expanded sharply in recent years. Among the venues that have opened are The Picklr in Centereach, TopSpin Pickleball in Hauppauge, and Sportime Pickleball Westbury. Box Pickleball Container Bar & Kitchen, which combines an indoor facility with a food and beverage concept, opened in Riverhead in 2024. Pickleball Xpress opened in Islip that same year, and Pickleball Smash-It launched at the Samanea New York Mall in Westbury in 2023.
With the founding membership already gone and more than 1,000 reservations banked in the opening stretch, the Coghlans are betting that Mineola can sustain year-round, climate-controlled demand in a region that clearly has no shortage of players looking for court time.
