The Deutscher Tischtennis-Bund cleared digital scoring devices for all matches across its league structure, from the first Bundesliga/TTBL down through and including the Oberligen. After an intensive development and testing phase, clubs now have a significant tool for digital support of match operations at their disposal.

The software at the centre of the rollout is Scorix, built by Arteco GmbH. Scorix is being made available to all member associations and clubs of the DTTB free of charge. Arteco is based in Velten, Brandenburg, and is also the developer of the MKTTlive app, which delivers live results, fixture information, and tournament data directly to mobile phones. Communications partner on the digital scoring device solution is the portal myTischtennis, headquartered in Düsseldorf.

In league play, the devices connect directly to the digital match report system clickTT/nuScore, eliminating the need for clubs to enter results separately. That means no more double-entry after a match night: the score updates the official record the moment play ends. The devices display live scores at the table, can function as an online live ticker, and can be coupled with external screens such as video cubes or scoreboards, as well as livestreams.

Clubs are responsible for sourcing their own hardware, such as tablets for operation and display. Entry into the system in split mode is possible for under 100 euros. Adoption remains optional at club level. Use is voluntary; clubs can, but are not required to, purchase and deploy the devices. At national events such as the Deutsche Meisterschaften or Bundesranglistenturniere, the DTTB will supply the digital scoring devices itself.

The reach of the rollout extends beyond the DTTB's own tiers. Digital scoring devices are now available in all DTTB competition classes through to the Oberligen, with the Scorix platform already active in the first regional associations as well. The selected software is also suitable for use in the league structures of the regional associations, from Kreisklasse level up to Verbandsligen, and in the Tischtennis Bundesliga.

Support for clubs and referees will include video guides, online tutorials, and in-person training sessions at national events to ensure smooth deployment in competition. The software is contracted for use through the end of the 2028/29 season, after which a new tender process will be conducted.

DTTB chairman Dr. Wolfgang Dörner framed the move in broad terms when the project was first unveiled: "The digital scoring devices optimise the presentation of our sport in many ways. Spectators in the hall receive more information than ever before, and from home, scores are now accessible more quickly.
