Mayor Neven Bosilj stood alongside Croatian Table Tennis Federation (HSTS) president Zoran at Monday's announcement, signaling the kind of institutional backing that tends to move a WTT Feeder event from calendar entry to legitimate destination tournament. The press conference, held March 9, made clear that this is a city-supported effort, not just a federation booking of a venue.

For the Croatian table tennis scene, landing a WTT Feeder is a meaningful step. The Feeder tier sits at the entry point of World Table Tennis's sanctioned circuit, meaning the points on offer draw ranked players actively working their way up the international ladder.
