March 20 saw the release of "Shake," a high-energy, dancehall-hip hop collaboration riding the Logwood Productions rhythm. The single brings together three distinct forces: US-based rapper Barzini, Ding Dong, the undisputed Jamaican king of dance music, and Qraig Voicemail, member of the iconic group Voicemail known for their catalogue of dance anthems.

Although born in Omaha, Nebraska, Barzini spent his first 10 years in Kingston, Jamaica. After returning to the United States, he settled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but traveled back to Kingston every summer and Christmas, keeping his cultural and musical connection alive. During his visits, time spent with friend and neighbour DJ Karim opened new musical doors. Through Karim, who produced for major artists such as Elephant Man, Wayne Marshall, Sean Paul, Tony Matterhorn, and Bounty Killer, Barzini was introduced to the world of reggae and dancehall from the inside.

That deep immersion in Jamaican music culture made "Shake" feel less like a calculated crossover and more like a natural arrival. Barzini explained that "the song came about because I wanted to do a dance fusion song with dancehall and hip-hop elements. I wanted to work with Ding Dong the king of dance and the voice behind some of the biggest dance hits, Qraig. I contacted Qraig and the idea came to fruition."

The studio session itself set the tone. "Working with Ding Dong and Qraig Voicemail was an absolute dream," Barzini said. "[It was] straight high energy and a dance experience, because Ding Dong was actually dancing and jumping while recording the song. It was a live performance seeing them in action. They went inside the recording booth and freestyled their verses and the chorus."

Ding Dong framed the record's dancefloor identity in the simplest terms possible. "Shake is an international dance song. In hip hop they say twerk, in dancehall we say wine." That one line captures the whole concept: two genres, one movement, zero barriers.

According to Qraig Voicemail, "Shake" is crafted as a tribute to women everywhere, their beauty, confidence, and undeniable presence. "It's a fun, infectious record designed for every woman who loves to dance, and every man who loves to watch the energy of the dance floor come alive. Without the ladies, there is no dancehall. Shake is one of those songs that will get the ladies moving — no matter where in the world they are," he explained.

Songs like "Wacky Dip," "Ready to Party," and "Ravers Rock" have fused the musical chemistry between Qraig Voicemail and Ding Dong throughout the years. "Shake" adds Barzini's Philadelphia-via-Kingston perspective to that proven pairing, with the track produced by Barzini on his label Change the Stars Records, which is dedicated to creating music that bridges cultures, genres, and audiences.

The single is available now on all major digital platforms.
