Jahcoustix releases Never Walk Alone, a roots reggae single of resilience

Jahcoustix put Never Walk Alone out on May 1 as a one-track digital release, and the title says exactly what the song is carrying: solidarity, resilience, and the kind of steady uplift that has long defined his corner of roots reggae. The timing fits Jahcoustix’s career arc. His official artist page says he will celebrate his 25th stage anniversary in 2026, after discovering reggae at 14 while growing up in Africa. Reggaeville traces that formative turn even further back, to Nairobi, Kenya in 1992, where he found the music that gave his life a clear direction. That background matters here because Never Walk Alone does not feel like a detour or a comeback stunt. It reads like another step in a long run built on roots, touring, and collaboration.

By the numbers, Jahcoustix is not working off a thin résumé. His official page says he has released eight studio albums and several singles, including World Citizen feat. Shaggy, and has shared work with Israel Vibration, Horace Andy, and Akae Beka. That lineage places him firmly inside reggae’s conscious lane, where voice, message, and feel still count for as much as polish. Reggaeville lists Jahcoustix at Chiemsee Reggae Summer 2026 on June 27 in Übersee, Germany, within the festival’s June 26-28 window, and at Sunrise Reggae & Ska Festival on July 10 in Burtenbach, Germany, during the July 10-12 run. His official site also says he will tour in 2026 as a solo act, with JAMARAM, and in acoustic duo shows with Sebastian Sturm, while his 10th studio album, Footprints, is slated for August 2026.
