Kruziano teams with BL Tha Hook Slaya for new single release

St. Croix is the center of Kruziano's next push, with the Virgin Islands singer and BL Tha Hook Slaya already on island filming the music video for I’ll Be There for the Weekend. The single is set for release on May 22, Memorial Day, and the rollout already has the feel of a move designed to travel beyond local speakers and onto a wider dancehall and reggae circuit. Kruziano was identified as Orlando Melendez Jr., and the collaboration arrives as a clear step up in how his music is being packaged.

BL Tha Hook Slaya is bringing more than a guest credit. His recent run includes Hit the Strip, which landed in the film Anora, along with Draco with Bounty Killer, released on August 22, 2025, and Let Em Know, a dedication to his longtime friend Jah Cure on the WYFL riddim. That résumé gives this pairing a sharper commercial edge, especially with a video already being shot on St. Croix instead of waiting for a stripped-down audio drop to do the work on its own.

Kruziano has been building his own lane too. He was nominated for Latin Caribbean Artist of the Year at the Caribbean Music Awards, performed recently at St. Thomas Carnival, and is scheduled to appear in New York City later this month. He also used TikTok to frame the nomination as one that came from St. Croix, while keeping the tone grounded in solidarity with fans who felt the category did not get the attention it deserved.

The result is a release that feels built for both place and reach. St. Croix gives the single its roots, BL Tha Hook Slaya gives it cross-market weight, and the video shoot makes the campaign look intentional from the start. For Kruziano, I’ll Be There for the Weekend is not just another tune on the schedule. It is a calculated bid to turn a local reggae voice into a more visible one.
