Mr Williamz and Reggae Roast have linked up for "Spread Out," a bass-driven dancehall anthem that arrived this week as the lead single from their forthcoming We Run The Scene EP. The track is out now, with the full six-track project set for digital release on 8 May 2026 via Evidence Music, backed by a limited vinyl pressing through Reggae Roast Records under catalogue reference RRRV001.

Reggae Roast describes "Spread Out" as "a full-throttle dancefloor anthem built for peak-time shellings," powered by heavyweight bass and an infectious riddim. The lyrical hook calls on women of all shapes and sizes to "Whine and Spread Out," framing the track as a body-positive celebration of confidence and movement. "With Mr Williamz' commanding vocal delivery riding high over Reggae Roast's thunderous production," the label says, "'Spread Out' captures the spirit of Dancehall at its most uplifting: inclusive, bold and vibrant."

The single arrives during a strong run for Mr Williamz. He recently picked up BBC Radio 1Xtra's Hottest Record and won BBC 6 Music Album of the Year for his collaborative work with Shy FX, cementing his standing as one of UK soundsystem culture's most authoritative voices. Reggae Roast, meanwhile, have kept busy with a touring schedule that includes regular support slots for UB40.

We Run The Scene EP clocks in at 18 minutes 26 seconds across five original cuts plus a dub version, all fully produced by Reggae Roast. The production channels classic 90s Dancehall energy through a contemporary UK lens, built around low-end weight and stripped-back drums designed to hit hard through speaker stacks. Each track stakes out its own territory: the title track opens as a declaration of MC authority; "True Expertise" addresses self-presentation and lifestyle; "Dubplate Daddy" pays tribute to microphone craft and lyrical dexterity; "Light Up" pairs a high-energy flow with a distinctive Middle Eastern-inspired sample; and the closing dub mix strips everything back specifically for selectors.

The response from the soundsystem world has been immediate. David Rodigan confirmed it for BBC 1Xtra, saying "This is great. Will be playing on BBC 1Xtra." Don Letts called himself a "No1 Mr. Williamz fan" and praised the Reggae Roast vibes as "MASSIVE." Ras Kwarme on Capitol Xtra said he had already played it, and Mungos Hi Fi gave the crew a direct endorsement on Kool FM: "Big up the RR crew every time. Quality UK dancehall sound."

The We Run The Scene EP goes live worldwide on Evidence Music on 8 May 2026, with the limited vinyl edition available independently through Reggae Roast Records.
