Renée Fleming and Béla Fleck are joining the Telluride Bluegrass Festival lineup, bringing their all-new collaboration The Fiddle and the Drum, featuring My Bluegrass Heart to Town Park on June 19 during the festival’s four-day run June 18–21, 2026. Planet Bluegrass organizers say a very limited number of Telluride Bluegrass 2026 tickets and camping passes remain.

Opera‑world describes the Fleming/Fleck set as designed to explore “deep and expressive musical textures that blend classical vocal prowess with the intricate traditions of American bluegrass,” positioning the program as an intentional crossover between a world‑renowned soprano and a virtuoso banjoist. Operawire and Opera‑world both list Fleming’s Telluride date as June 19.

Planet Bluegrass co-founder Craig Ferguson framed the addition as unexpected and revelatory: “We thought we knew all the tricks up Bela’s sleeve by now, but here he comes with a new collaboration to blow our socks off in such a deep and beautiful way that you’d never expect it.” Jambase and Operawire carried Ferguson’s remark when announcing the new additions to the roster.

The festival’s headliners for June 18–21 already include Tedeschi Trucks Band, Gregory Alan Isakov and Larkin Poe, and the expanded lineup names Shakey Graves, Sam Bush Band, Flatland Cavalry, Greensky Bluegrass, Punch Brothers, The Infamous Stringdusters, Watchhouse Duo, Leftover Salmon, Sierra Hull, The Telluride House Band, Jake Shimabukuro, Peter Rowan Walls of Time Band, Noeline Hofmann, Chris Thile, AJ Lee & Blue Summit, Clay Street Unit, East Nash Grass, Lark, Roman & Meyer, Jason Carter & Michael Cleveland, Boy Golden, Rett Madison, Dallahan and Maggie Antone across the various announcements.

Alongside main-stage sets, Jambase highlights programming that has become part of the Telluride experience: intimate workshop performances at Elks Park, late-night indoor NightGrass concerts at venues across town and pickin’ in campgrounds and condos ‘til dawn. Planet Bluegrass will present those formats again as part of the June festival schedule.

Ticket availability is tightening; Jambase, BroadwayWorld and Grateful Web report that only a very limited number of festival tickets and camping passes remain. Jambase directs buyers to the festival’s online shop, while Grateful Web points to the Telluride ticket page for purchases, check those outlets for current availability before you travel.

Founded in 1974, the Telluride Bluegrass Festival takes place in Town Park in the historic mining town high in the San Juan Mountains and traditionally coincides with the summer solstice. Operawire notes that Fleming’s appearance at Telluride fits her history of crossover projects, “It is not the first time Fleming does crossover music. The soprano has experimented with jazz and rock music recording songs for films and a rock album.” Jambase also pointed out that while Béla Fleck is a Telluride Bluegrass regular, his return was not part of the festival’s initial lineup announcement. Operawire adds that “The two will also collaborate at the Spoleto Festival,” extending the pairing beyond Telluride.
