Livia Brito leads Salvador Mejía’s new Televisa telenovela Amor Infinito

Livia Brito has been cast as the protagonist of Salvador Mejía’s new Televisa novela Amor Infinito, with Gonzalo García Vivanco joining her as co-lead. TelevisaUnivision is positioning the project as a new Las Estrellas production, and the cast list also includes Marjorie de Sousa and Josh Gutiérrez.

The production marked its official start with a claquetazo in the south of Mexico City at La Fonda de Ortensia, a familiar kind of launch for a Televisa prime-time bet that wants attention before the first episode airs. The novela is also circulating under the name Infinito Amor, and it is set to reach television screens on October 12, 2026.

Brito’s casting carries extra weight because it comes after a stretch defined as much by legal headlines as by acting work. Her name has been tied to proceedings over alleged false testimony connected to a 2020 Cancún beach incident, and a judge denied her request for an injunction to stop the legal process. Putting her at the front of a major nueva producción is a clear signal that Televisa sees her return as viable, not tentative.

That confidence also fits Brito’s longer relationship with the company. Back in 2018, Televisa Estudios executive Patricio Wills was already talking about more projects with her, which suggests this new lead role is not a sudden rescue but another chapter in a long working relationship. Mejía has built Amor Infinito with a cast that pairs Brito and García Vivanco at the top and adds names like Marjorie de Sousa to give the launch extra ballast.

For Mejía, the casting choice does more than fill a slot on Las Estrellas. It puts a recognizable Televisa face, one with a complicated recent profile, at the center of a fresh novela push. That is the wager behind Amor Infinito: Brito is not being eased back into the fold, she is being handed the job of carrying the launch from day one.
