InZOI Update Reveals Karma Rework, Canvas Sharing, Experimental Curved Walls
InZOI posted a developer update detailing a Karma rework, Build Mode Canvas sharing improvements, and an experimental curved-wall build mode, all still work in progress.

InZOI posted a developer update that laid out several work-in-progress systems and quality-of-life improvements for The Sims, with a video and developer notes shared on Discord. The headline changes touch both gameplay systems and builder tools, and most items remain experimental with no firm release dates.
Karma has been reworked into a behind-the-scenes value that accumulates over time and acts like a soft luck mechanic. Karma will sit separate from the visible Reputation system and is intended to nudge outcomes rather than directly force them. Expect subtle shifts in event results and NPC behavior as Karma influences probabilities and flavor, not strict outcomes.
Build Mode Canvas is getting targeted improvements aimed at community sharing and discoverability. InZOI plans filters to sort Canvas uploads by city and address, and uploaded Zois - assets, worlds, and rooms - will become sortable by traits and personalities. Creators will also see flags that identify assets containing mods, making it easier to spot modded content when browsing shared builds. These changes could streamline hunting for a specific lot or matching downloads to a Sim’s story.
Builders who like to push limits will want to watch the experimental curved-wall feature. InZOI described a curved-wall build mode that is in progress but explicitly experimental and without an estimated arrival. This will be one to test and give feedback on once available, as it could change how builders craft organic spaces and flow in lots.
World updates include the addition of collision objects on some streets in Bliss Bay and Dowon to make driving and travel feel more tactile. That tweak aims to reduce the floaty sensation many players notice while navigating neighborhoods and should make in-world movement feel weightier and more physical.
The update also confirmed active creation of new Build/Buy and CAS assets for a Lunar New Year event. Those assets are in production and will arrive when ready; InZOI emphasized that many of the items announced are iteration-stage features that will be refined with community input.
InZOI asked for feedback on these experiments and invited players to weigh in via the Discord notes. Give feedback on the specific systems you care about - Karma interactions you notice, Canvas sorting you'd like, or how curved walls affect build workflows. Expect incremental rollouts and testing cycles rather than a single big patch.
This update signals that InZOI is balancing behind-the-scenes gameplay tuning with practical creator tools. For players, that means quieter but meaningful shifts in simulation outcomes, better ways to find and share builds, and new build tech to try once it moves out of experimental status.
