Man Arrested After Fatal Stabbing of Student Film-Maker on Primrose Hill
Police arrested a 27-year-old on suspicion of murder after Finbar Sullivan, 21, was stabbed to death at Primrose Hill. A second man, 25, was held on suspicion of assisting an offender.

A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the fatal stabbing of Finbar Sullivan at Primrose Hill, the north London beauty spot better known for sunset views than violent crime. Police also arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender, and both men remained in custody after the latest update from detectives.
Officers were called to reports of a fight at around 6:41pm BST on Tuesday, 7 April, and found Sullivan with stab wounds. The 21-year-old later died at the scene. The Metropolitan Police said the arrests came as part of the murder investigation into his death, which unfolded in one of London’s most recognisable public spaces.
Sullivan has been described as a student film-maker and aspiring cameraman, a detail that has sharpened the sense of shock around the case. His father, Christopher Sullivan, spoke publicly about the killing and described it as the worst tragedy he could imagine. That grief has sat alongside the police appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
Detectives are particularly interested in witnesses who were at Primrose Hill when the fight broke out, including anyone who may have captured video of the incident. The call for footage suggests investigators are trying to reconstruct the moments before the stabbing, when the argument or confrontation that drew police to the scene escalated into lethal violence.
The location has added to the public unease. Primrose Hill is a well-known viewpoint in north London, a place associated with walks, skyline photos and evening crowds, not a murder investigation. That contrast between a popular open-air landmark and the killing of a 21-year-old student film-maker has made the case stand out across the capital, even as detectives continue working through the evidence.
