Police Identify Woman Found Shot Dead at Oxon Run Park, Reward Offered
Juanita Frazier was found shot dead in an Oxon Run Park parking lot, and detectives are now chasing tips, motive and a suspect.

Juanita Frazier, a 38-year-old Washington, D.C., woman, was found shot to death in the parking lot of Oxon Run Community Park as Prince George’s County homicide detectives pushed to find out who killed her and why. A childhood friend remembered Frazier as kind and always smiling, a painful contrast to a case now defined by a public crime scene, a short but troubling timeline, and a growing call for witnesses to step forward.
Police said officers were called to the 2300 block of Oxon Run Drive in the Hillcrest Heights and Temple Hills area around 10:15 p.m. to 10:20 p.m. on April 28, 2026, after a man reported finding an unresponsive woman in the park parking lot. First responders tried life-saving measures, but Frazier was pronounced dead at the scene. WUSA9 reported that officers found her suffering trauma to the upper body before later confirming she had been shot.
The Prince George’s County Police homicide unit has taken over the investigation, and no arrests have been made. Detectives have not released a suspect description or a motive, leaving the key questions unanswered in a case that is still very much open. Police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment, and the case is being tracked under number 26-0022511.

Investigators are asking anyone who saw or heard anything near Oxon Run Community Park that night to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously through Prince George’s County Crime Solvers online, through the P3 Tips app, or by calling 1-866-411-8477. The county’s Crime Solvers program also says anonymous tips that lead to an arrest and indictment may qualify for a reward of up to $2,500 through the tip line, separate from the larger reward tied to this homicide.
Maryland-National Capital Park Police have increased patrols in the park and said they normally conduct hourly checks in response to incidents like this. The park police division says it provides 24-hour protection for county parks and facilities, but the killing has still rattled a public space where people expect safety, not a homicide investigation at night.
