Nintendo announced via a Nintendo of America tweet that it would host an roughly 80-minute Treehouse: Live presentation featuring hands-on gameplay for Super Mario Bros. Wonder - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park and Pokémon Pokopia, with the broadcast set to start at 2:00 p.m. PT on Tuesday, February 24. The tweet read in full, "Join us on Feb 24 at 2pm PT for a new Nintendo Treehouse: Live presentation featuring hands-on gameplay of #SuperMarioBrosWonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park and #PokemonPokopia. Watch here: pic.twitter.com/lC2PX8VDZv."

The presentation was billed as a gameplay-first stream rather than a news-focused Direct, a distinction VGC summed up this way: "Whereas Nintendo Direct presentations mostly consist of trailers and new announcements, Treehouse: Live presentations are more focused on hands-on gameplay presentations, much like a Twitch stream." Outlets including Nintendo Life and NintendoSoup carried regional start times, with Nintendo Life listing 2pm PST / 3pm MST / 4pm CST / 5pm EST for North America, 10pm GMT / 11pm CET for the UK and Europe, and early Wednesday morning conversions for Asia and Oceania such as 7am JST and 9am AEDT.

Both games shown in the Treehouse stream have near-term release windows. VGC lists Pokémon Pokopia as releasing on March 5 for Nintendo Switch 2 and credits Koei Tecmo and Game Freak as developers. VGC describes the game premise specifically: "Players play as a Ditto, who takes on the appearance of a human. As Ditto, the player will befriend other Pokémon to rebuild an island." Super Mario Bros. Wonder - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park is listed with a March 26 release date, and several outlets used the full title with the "Meetup in Bellabel Park" suffix during their coverage.

VGC's article page also included product snippets and pricing text showing "Super Mario Bros. Wonder (Nintendo Switch) £49.99$59.99$59.99" alongside an affiliate disclosure reading "Some external links on this page are affiliate links, if you click on our affiliate links and make a purchase we might receive a commission." Nintendo Life noted viewers could "watch along on YouTube, or with us right here on Nintendo Life" as the stream went live, and NintendoSoup pointed readers to a link to the stream embedded in its post.

Explosion Network flagged the week as busy for Pokémon coverage, writing, "We already have a massive Pokémon Presents happening late Friday night/early Saturday morning..." The Treehouse stream’s emphasis on hands-on demos and the March release dates for Pokopia and Mario Wonder make the broadcast a final public gameplay preview window before both titles reach players in March.
