Blue Scarab Entertainment announced that Equinox: Homecoming "leaves Early Access and launches into 1.0 on March 5th, 2026." The studio released an official 1.0 launch trailer to accompany the announcement, and the developer is listed as both developer and publisher on the game's Steam store page. Equinox first entered Early Access on May 8, 2025 and spent 2025 in Early Access while Blue Scarab rolled out chapters, races, and regular fixes.
The Early Access run included a fast cadence of updates and dev blogs. Patch entries on the game's update history show Patch #5 on June 18, 2025 added "Chapter 2, New Content, and More!", Patch #8 on August 18, 2025 added "Ch.3, Enviromental Jumping, and Control Customization", and Patch #14 on November 20, 2025 listed "Ch. 4, Palomino Coat, Crown Chase multiplayer events, and more". Dev Blog entries appeared alongside patches, including "Dev Blog #2: Our Approach to a Darker Narrative" on October 22, 2025 and "Dev Blog #5: Designing a Breathtaking Open World" on January 23, 2026.
Blue Scarab used the Steam store to clarify monetization plans that changed during Early Access. The store copy states, "We originally intended to support future updates with a mandatory monthly subscription. This was largely inspired by our previous work on other games. We listened to everyone’s feedback very early on and learned that this model didn’t feel fair, especially since you were already inundated with subscriptions." The studio then announced, "Equinox: Homecoming will no longer have a required monthly subscription to play. [...] ALL Early Access players will automatically receive a Lifetime Riding Pass." The store text also reassured players that "During Early Access, this will stay simple: there won’t be real money in-game purchases. That won’t be changing!"
Community features and promotional efforts figure into Blue Scarab's roadmap. The Steam page invites players: "Want to begin your investigation early? Try out our free demo during Horse Fest!" and explains the demo lets players play the first chapter and then continue exploring Alderwood, competing in races, and participating in Crown Chase. The store lists community channels including Discord, Instagram, TikTok, X, and more, and the store metadata tags the game as Massively Multiplayer, RPG with in-game chat and online interactivity.

Player reception during Early Access has been solid by the store metrics listed: Recent Reviews show "Very Positive (45) - 93% of the 45 user reviews in the last 30 days are positive," while All Reviews read "Very Positive (679) - 80% of the 679 user reviews for this game are positive." The Steam page also notes "View Steam Achievements (373)," underscoring the amount of tracked in-game content players have unlocked through the Early Access period.
Blue Scarab framed its post-1.0 ambitions in the store roadmap, writing that during Early Access it aimed to "finish Act One of the Main Story, add more race tracks and ride islands" and to add "the ability to create your own race tracks and share them with your friends." March 5, 2026 will mark the transition from that Early Access chapter to full 1.0 release, with the studio keeping some post-1.0 monetization details unspecified beyond the cancelled subscription and Lifetime Riding Pass for Early Access players.
