Helldivers 2 Exo Experts warbond adds mechs, guns, and armor
Helldivers 2’s next premium warbond goes all-in on mechs, adding two exosuits, new guns, and speed-boosting armor on April 28.

The Exo Experts warbond is finally giving Helldivers 2 players the mech-heavy drop they have been asking for, and it lands on April 28, 2026 with a lineup built around bigger machines, heavier support, and more battlefield swagger. Sony’s PlayStation Blog describes it as a Premium Warbond authorized by the Ministry of Defense, and the theme is clear from the first reveal: this is not a grab bag of unrelated gear, but a package aimed squarely at exosuit fans.
The headliners are the EXO-51 Lumberer and the EXO-55 Breakthrough. The Lumberer is pitched as a modern reinvention of a first Galactic War exosuit, armed with an anti-tank cannon and a flamethrower. That combination points to a suit that can crack armored targets and keep pressure on clustered enemies without forcing the pilot into a purely defensive role. The Breakthrough leans in a different direction, pairing a flak cannon with a ballistics shield, which should make it the more deliberate push tool of the two, built for advancing under fire and protecting a squad’s lane through hostile territory.
The rest of the warbond keeps that combat-forward identity intact. The new weapons include the MGX-42 Bullet Storm disposable machine gun, the SMG-203 Gallant submachine gun, and the P-33 Missile Pistol, giving players more ways to build around close-range suppression and quick-response sidearm damage. The O-2 Heavy Operator and O-3 Free Spirit armor sets both come with the Oxygenator perk, which speeds up walking, running, and sliding. In Helldivers 2, where positioning and timing often decide whether a squad survives a breach or gets wiped by one, that extra mobility is more than a small quality-of-life bonus.

The cosmetic side is still part of the pitch, but it looks secondary to the hardware this time. A trailer coverage item from IGN says the warbond also includes the 0-3 Free Spirit Light Armor and new vehicle skins, while the capes and patterns help sell the full armored-fantasy package. That matters because Helldivers 2 has long treated warbonds as a blend of utility, progression, and identity, not just fashion drops.
Arrowhead Games Studios has used Premium Warbonds to steer Helldivers 2 into distinct playstyles before, from the trench warfare focus of Entrenched Division on March 17, 2026 to the experimental alien-tech weapons of Control Group on July 17, 2025. Mechs were already part of the game’s history too, with the EXO-45 Patriot Exosuit arriving in March 2024 as a reward for liberating Tien Kwan. Exo Experts feels like a direct answer to that long-running appetite, and this time the message is louder: the mech crowd is not being teased anymore, it is being outfitted.
