Nacon Files for Insolvency, Seeks Judicial Reorganisation; Postpones NACON Connect
Nacon has requested the opening of judicial reorganisation proceedings and postponed its March 4 NACON Connect to May 2026 after majority shareholder Bigben failed to make a €43 million repayment.

Nacon, the French publisher and peripherals manufacturer, has filed for insolvency by requesting the opening of judicial reorganisation proceedings and has postponed its NACON Connect showcase originally scheduled for March 4, 2026 to May 2026, citing immediate financial disruption at majority shareholder Bigben Interactive. GamesIndustry.biz reported that Bigben was unable to make a €43 million loan repayment because of an "unexpected refusal of its banking pool to respond to the drawdown notice," a failure Nacon says triggered the decision to seek court-supervised restructuring.
The company reproduced a press statement explaining the event delay: "In order to ensure that our future announcements have the impact they deserve, NACON has made the strategic decision to postpone the next edition of its NACON Connect, initially scheduled for March 4th." Nacon added it will "focus our resources on upcoming releases and the development of our current games" and that the pause "will allow us to polish our projects and prepare for a new NACON Connect to be held in May, which will showcase the work of our studios in the best possible way."
Nacon framed the insolvency filing as a tool to stabilise operations and protect staff. GamesIndustry.biz quoted the company: "The aim of this procedure is to assess all possible solutions to ensure the sustainability of the Company's activity under the best possible conditions, protect employees, and preserve jobs, while renegotiating with its creditors in a calm and constructive framework." The outlet also relayed Nacon's view that "This procedure will enable the Company to continue its business, renegotiate its debts, and develop a credible and effective continuation plan."
The publisher says marketing activity will continue in the interim, listing specific titles it plans to support by "numerous communications" ahead of the rescheduled showcase, including GreedFall: The Dying World, Dragonkin: The Banished, and Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss. Videogameschronicle reported that Nacon described announced releases as remaining on track and said it is "confident we'll get through this."

The immediate chronology points to a February notice tied to Bigben's repayment issues, followed by Nacon's announcement and the March 4 scheduling change; outlets noted Nacon had announced the March Connect only days earlier. Some coverage framed the postponement as predictable, with a Stevivor headline offering the blunt appraisal "Not unexpected," and PushSquare noting why a NACON Connect might not be the company's highest priority while lenders and creditors are renegotiated.
Key details remain outstanding: the exact French court and legal procedure name tied to the judicial reorganisation request, the formal filing date and docket, confirmation of the €43 million figure from Bigben Interactive filings, the identities of the banks in the referenced banking pool, any immediate headcount or studio-level impacts, and the precise May 2026 date for the rescheduled NACON Connect. Nacon has signalled an intent to continue operations and to use the court-supervised process to renegotiate debts while supporting its upcoming releases.
