Ubisoft has set August 6 as the next date Ghost Recon fans should circle, using the franchise’s X account to promise more on the series’ 25th anniversary and to tease that “Intel coming soon.” The post did not name a new game, but it clearly pointed attention toward the franchise’s future instead of the anniversary itself.

The timing lines up with Ghost Recon’s roots. Ubisoft’s official franchise page says the series has existed “since 2001,” and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon launched on November 13, 2001, which puts the 25th anniversary in 2026. Ubisoft also describes Ghost Recon as a tactical shooter franchise led by Ubisoft Paris, a reminder that the brand has always been built around a more methodical, military style than the company’s bigger action series.

That makes the August 6 tease more interesting than a routine milestone post. Ubisoft’s wording suggests it wants the anniversary to do more than celebrate the past: it looks like the company is preparing to use the date to say something concrete about the next playable chapter for Ghost Recon. The post gave no platform list, no trailer, and no release window, but it did give fans a specific expectation: more information is coming.

The last two Ghost Recon games help explain why the community is reading so much into that wording. Ubisoft says Ghost Recon Wildlands and Ghost Recon Breakpoint moved the series into vast open worlds with post-launch content, a direction that broadened the brand but also left plenty of players hoping for a sharper tactical identity in the next mainline entry.
